Finally! A paper craft book that is easy to understand! I have been obsessed with trying to make paper flowers for quite some time, but never mastered the subject. When I opened my package I was pleasantly surprised at the size of this book! The cover and all of the pages are so bright and cheery that it makes you smile! I like that the book uses tools and paper that are easy to find and that it is written with a voice that is informative, friendly and to the point. I especially like the back portion of the book that offers ideas for using the flowers. It helps stir up your own imagination! Though all of the photographs are inspiring, I can't decide on my favorite. The Poppy, Allium and Dogwood are the front runners so far. The crazy part is that these flowers have such a charming realistic quality to them. Congrats to the author! well done!!

As soon as I saw the preview of this book, I pre-ordered. I got it last week and devoured it, stuck post-its all over the pages for in-depth study and started over from the front! As always, Jeffrey Rudell's instructions are clear and easy to understand, the photos are of a good size and are well done, the selection of flowers that Jeffrey has designed is nothing short of wonderful. He is such a creative guy and his projects - whether they are flowers or gift wrapping or other charming paper items - are quite realistic yet, with a change of color or paper, he shows you how to change from realistic to whimsical. This is SUCH A GREAT book - I can't say enough good things. I've already started working on 2 projects and will probably do all of the flowers in the book sooner or later. I've been a huge fan of Jeffrey's since his CraftStylish blog was active. Even a fumble fingered idiot like me was able to produce very nice bouquets of colorful, creative paper flowers that were hits as party centerpieces and as gifts. Jeffrey has brought me so many hours of fun as I cut, glued and assembled his designs, but many more lovely feelings of accomplishment as my friends and strangers gushed over my "creative talent". If only they knew...it CERTAINLY isn't me who is creative and talented. It's all Jeffrey Rudell. You've got to try this book - you'll be hooked.

I already have Mr. Rudell's other books and just received "Paper Blooms." I have to say, it far exceeded my expectations. The flowers are extraordinary - and all the more so because they are made from everyday items. I love that the projects range in complexity, allowing one to start simply while still aspiring to make some of the more elaborate projects. The step-by-step photos literally answered every question I would have had, so even though I am not an experienced crafter, I feel encouraged to try making my own bouquets. The flowers pictured within would also make lovely decorative elements to adorn gift boxes or display place cards. Finally, Mr. Rudell's talents as an award-winning storyteller are clearly evident in his anecdotes and reflections throughout the book. One feels engaged, inspired, and entertained while reading this lovely work. I've now sent it to two friends - a terrific gift for spring!

Jeffery Rudell has impeccably captured nature's beauty out of paper. These real-life flower creations are so beautiful, elegant and are truly extraordinary. I pre-ordered this book when I first heard of it's release and was so excited when I received it. "Paper Blooms" is a gorgeous collection of paper flower projects for all seasons & occasions. The author offers very thorough explanations of crafting these projects with many step-by-step visuals, making it easy for anyone to duplicate. This book makes a great gift, a perfect coffee table book, a great reference, and best of all a great guide to creating something so unique and amazing, I highly recommended for all.

While the book was packaged well there were several pages inside the book that were stuck together at the bottom in different parts of the book. It's a good book if you're a beginner but if you've been making paper flowers for a while it's not so great. A lot of the flowers would be perfect for children to make.

Paper Blooms is a must for crafters of any skill level or age. The photography is clean and bold. You can clearly see the details of each flower project, and the step-by-step photos are easy to follow. There's also a gallery of inspirational photos on what you can do with your finished flowers. The project materials are inexpensive, but the results are sophisticated. There's even a carnation that is made with coffee filters! I'm looking forward to experimenting with different papers, as the author, Jeffery Rudell suggests. This book has become a friendly and useful addition to my craft book collection.

Jeffrey Rudell is a very good designer. These flowers are captivating, and the materials are varied and fun to work with (I happened to have a large assortment of paint chips, and was delighted to find a design for a flower made out of paint chips!).

But even better than that is that he is an excellent writer. The directions are clear, and the photos show every step. Highly recommended.

I only gave a 4 star rating. Although well illustrated and lots of pictures all the flowers are made from paper and I was looking for crepe paper flowers especially roses.

As a total beginner, I ordered several books on making paper flowers. This one is brilliant to get you started with simple blooms and then teaches you more complicated techniques. I'm now absolutely hooked and would recommend this book to anybody interested in trying this as a hobby. Please bring out another book soon, Mr Rudell!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sehr schönes Buch!
Reviewed in Germany on June 24, 2014

I love this book. It's got enough to keep us occupied for weeks and months. The instructions are clear and the illustrations excellent.
I like the fact that there is no attempt to make these flowers look real. They are obviously paper flowers and all the better for it. I hate artificial flowers, but love these paper ones.
