- SUPER PORTABLE: Solar Paper is only 1/3 of weight and 1/8 of volume compared to competitors.
- LOOKS FANTASTIC: innovative design with gold plated solar panels.
- Fast charging time: Charge iPhone 6 within 2.5 hours. Solar Paper uses the most efficient solar panels available on the consumer market.
- EXPANDABLE USING MAGNETS: If you need to charge larger devices, you can simply add additional panels.
- AUTO RESET TECHNOLOGY: Users don't have to unplug and replug the cable every time a cloud passes overhead or you walk through a shadow. This is very inconvenient. We wanted to make Solar Paper as easy as possible for anyone to use, so we have integrated ‘auto-comparison technology’ into the charger, to make it automatically resume powering your devices, after the sun starts soaking it again.

Easily Expandable using Magnets
Magnets allow more sub-panels to be connected together. Solar Paper can generate bigger power with more panels.
Solar Paper has protection from dust or splashing water(IP54). However, USB part is susceptible to corrosion, so make sure to dry it well.
Devices like tablet PC requires bigger power than a smartphone. To charge table PC, choose solar paper 10W, or simply add two sub-panels if you already have 5W.
Other models, such as sub-panel (2.5W), 7.5W (1 main+ 2 sub panels), and 10W (1 main + 3 sub panels) can be also bought through Amazon.

New innovations in portable solar technology magnetic solar panel connections: Unlike other chargers which have fixed connections between panels which tend to experience wear and tear (and therefore lose efficiency), solar paper's magnetic connections reduce wear and tear to an absolute minimum. In addition, they enable very easy charger upgrades: Simply click in two additional panels to achieve an increased capacity of 5w. With all other options, you'd have to buy an entirely new device. Lcd screen: For solar paper, we've included an lcd amp meter that shows exactly how much current is flowing from the charger to your device at any time. We wouldn't include this lcd if we were not absolutely confident about our technology and our product. No false advertising. No false promises. Also, by monitoring the current display on the lcd screen you can ensure the best possible angle for faster charging. Dramatically improved design: Until now, solar chargers have either been bulky and heavy or inefficient. 'Solar paper' is a design revolution in the portable solar charger market. As well as being more efficient and robust enough for the outdoor market, the charger weighs only 4oz and is super portable. YOLK is an innovative solar power company. We recently launched "solar paper, the world's thinnest and lightest solar charger" and got funded over $1 million dollars. With our highly advanced technology, solar energy will not be limited for users that enjoy outdoor activities. Our goal is bringing solar technology into everyone's daily life.

I would like to contact Yolk and request a replacement LCD, but there is no way to communicate with them other than here. In fact, they refer customers to Amazon to leave a review. The instructions provided with the Solar Paper tell you to contact a physical address in Korea or the website, but there is no customer service email or number listed on their website. Right now, I don't have a good feeling about their customer service.
7/5/16 - I sent an email message to the email that confirmed the purchase. A person named Sen asked that I send a video of the problem which I did. He said he couldn't understand the video. He asked that I do additional troubleshooting, which I did today, to charge a different device. Again, the device indicator did not show it was charging out of the non Apple port. It does charge out of the Apple port, but I don't have an Apple device. After reporting the non Apple port was still not working, I requested a new LCD. Here is what I received. "Thank you for trying. When is your trip? Please ship the whole units back to us a.s.a.p. If you are not in extreme hurry, basic USPS with tracking number will be fine. We will examine the units and ship you new units if it has a problem.
Below is an address and phone number for shipping.

I have to pay $40 to send it to Korea and have them look at it. The video apparently showing the port did not charge was not enough information. I have asked for a return authorization, despite a 25% restocking fee, and am changing my review to one star. I am going to buy a different solar charger. Other companies would send you a replacement unit and a prepaid mailing envelope to return a defective unit. $100 lesson learned. The product looks good, but no US support after the sale means you are on your own if there is a problem.
My only recommendations for improvement would be stronger magnets that hold the panels together, actually if they were really strong they could hold all the panels in a straight line so that when you rest it against a rock all the panels would face the sun instead of kind of bend in different directions. Oh, and one final recommendation is to try and lower the price, because I'd love to buy additional panels if they were cheaper. Keep up the great work.
Let's talk about an ideal setup, and then I'll go over the pros and cons. Imagine your backpack sitting out in the sun. The panels go on top, your battery goes underneath or inside. Why didn't I say phone? They're temperamental creatures, smartphones. They generate heat during operation, which they can't bleed off if it's too hot. I suggest a "power bank" type, which you can charge from this setup. Will work directly, but is not an ideal scenario.
Some pros of this are the tight form factor when collapsed and robust connections. The magnets are strong and last months of regular use. The plugs are resilient. The customer service is exemplary from this company, as when my shipment was delayed the owner jumped in and had things straightened out within a day.
There are a few downsides. The rigidity of the panels and the various metal bits can scuff up things if you're rough, so they need to be wrapped in a microfiber towel or the like to protect them and your pack contents during more lively jaunts. The connections are magnetic, primarily, with lightweight plastics connecting them as a backup. This works fine if you are stationary or are moving slowly. Not so great for those moving fast or bouncing regularly. The fabric-wrapped GoalZero types are a little more pleasant to handle, though I haven't found them to work as well as these.
Always use the included silicon hinges they add no real weight and keep the panels together quite well.
In good sun it charged my iPhone in less than 3 hours, it has a great auto restart feature that doesn't interrupt the charge.
Extra panels are available to increase the voltage.
This maybe the lightest most efficient panels I own.
