Editorial Reviews

McCoy had discussed the band's album, The Papercut Chronicles II, "All I got to say is it's definitely going back to the essence of Gym Class Heroes, which is four dudes sitting in a room, vibing off each other."

I found this album to be a great return to GCH's roots with a touch of the new! I think this is truly a hybrid of rock, rap, alternative and pop and I can't wait to see which single they pick after Stereo Hearts!

The Papercut Chronicles ll is a feel good record. It is consistent with their 'whole shooting match' style, melding and weaving together, rap, hip hop, rock, reggae - anything that makes Travie McCoy and his gym class heroes feel good.
There is a nice selection of guest artists. Adam Levine from Maroon 5, collaborating with the group on 'My Hearts a Stereo' and Neon Hitch with a velvet voice crooning 'Get Your Ass Back Home'.
The music is fresh, creative and full of heart. The blending of the styles and the guest stars takes this record to another dimension.

The third single "The Fighter" off The Papercut Chronicles II from Gym Class Heroes released earlier this year. The band's name came when Travie McCoy, lead vocals met drummer Matt McGinley during their high school gym class in 1997.
The next few shows are up in the air since Travie wound up in a hospital in Hawaii.
"The doctors monitoring him feel that it is crucial he stay under their watch until he is back to normal health," Matt said. "We're all hoping our boy Travie is back on his feet soon and we can all continue doing what we love."
I'm guessing the strain of moving from medium venues to stadiums and being a band on the edge to becoming mega-stars has taken a toll on the boys.
The Papercut Chronicles also produced "Stereo Hearts," with Adam Levine from Maroon 5, "A-- Back Home," featuring Neon Hitch and now "The Fighter" with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic.
Besides getting impressive duets, the band has been successful mixing elements of rap, rock, R&B, and funk into one cool soundscape. Other members include Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo, backing vocals and Eric Roberts, bass.

This album is solid. Does it change the world? No, but that's okay. From start to finish it's just really enjoyable. Their sense of melody is impressive.

I was so excited to hear about the release...after waiting YEARS for them to release a new album. They promised their fans to go back to their roots (what could be better than that!) and no more of that The Quilt crap (only like Fly With ME. I needed more PCC and ACASC songs. This album has given me what I need from GCH. Solo Discotheque is my favorite song from the album (listening to it now). I heard it for the first time live and was like "YES" and then heard the album version and got more excited...prob now one of my fav GCH songs, never gets old. This CD is def one that I listen to on my drive home from the university and back. I like them all, Stereo Hearts being my least favorite now that it has become over played (but I'm glad so they can get out their). If you liked the old GCH, you will like PCCII :)
