I watched the DVD Forks over Knives and decided that a plant based diet was something that I wanted to try. I didn't really believe that it was a healthy lifestyle - a person needs protein and all that. Just a week or so before going vegan I'd said at work, 'Yeah vegans; they can't raise they're voices or get erections.' Everyone laughed. Then I came into work, after watching Forks over Knives, and sheepishly declared, 'Guys, I'm ... becoming a vegan.'
Watching the DVD was all it took to convince me, but going vegan was a lot harder. I tried the Engine 2 diet, which I just couldn't get into. I got the Forks Over Knives cookbook, which was great but I found it hard to put into practice day to day. Then I found the paradigm diet.
The paradigm diet is AMAZING. It's simple, it's easy, and the food is delicious. I've haven't felt this good in, I can't remember the last time I felt this good. Just start the day with one of the breakfast fruit smoothies and you'll be hooked.
Here's a run down of some of the good points that I've experienced:
-I've lost 6 kilos (or 13 pounds)
-my skin is clear and glowing
-my ex asked me if I'd had botox
-I fall asleep straight away and wake up refreshed
-I feel incredible
-I'm getting more erections now than I did when I was 14
If you aren't sure whether you should buy this book just download the sample like I did. The books a pleasure a read, it's well written and funny, and it will change your life. Just give it a go.
Why is plant-based super-athlete and author, Dr. Adam Dave M.D.'s, The Paradigm Diet, 'for my money,' the most useful book ever penned, on perhaps Man's ideal diet - the 80-10-10 diet? First: Dave M.D.'s approach offers, in my experience - and that of a large number with whom I've worked - the full range of benefits garnered on the much tougher-to-maintain (for most, I'd say), raw, fruit-based diet. Excellent, reliable digestion and elimination. A low 'toxic load.' And a high degree of nutrients, 'per bite.' And two: Dr. Dave's approach carries with it, just a couple of key differences, making his plan FAR more 'doable,' in my opinion, for most. More 'doable,' I mean, than would be a 100% raw, fruit-based regimen. Particularly for the average, formerly standard-western-diet-eating...consumer.
Those differences? Well, Dave M.D. incorporates the bean (botanically, a fruit), into his recommended protocol. An 80-10-10 food, generally-speaking, in most cases; and one, rich in nutrients and fiber. And, a food which has the advantage of digesting in the stomach to a large degree; rather than bypassing it quickly - as does sweet fruit, to the digestive tract in about 30 minutes.
Why is this important? Well, in my experience, there is simply one critical feature about the 100% raw, fruit-based diet, that the vast majority of formerly toxic-food-addicted folk, 'can't handle.' One many find, 'intolerable.' And one that pushes them, in many cases, 'over the edge,' and often, 'crashing back down,' to less-than-desirable eating habits.Read more ›
But I knew I needed help to make sure my diet is optimal. So I was thrilled when I discovered this book after being at an all time low mentally and physically. It is so easy to read and understand and Dr Dave has a wonderful sense of humor which I love. I now feel totally enabled and so grateful. I wish I had known all this stuff 10 years ago and then maybe I wouldn't now have 60 lbs of fat from eating bread and cheese to remove!
Buy this book and get healthy.
