Bliss Novak is a well-established Real Estate professional and Steven French has become a well-respected Stuntman. They experience an exhilarating chemistry when they meet and instantly know that this is something special, causing their relationship to take flight.
Bliss is beautiful, both inside and out and Steven can see that. He is both sensitive and manly and Bliss is attracted to his strength. Their connection is explosive and they both know exactly what they want. They are confident and use that confidence to make their relationship work.
But like every love story, not everything is perfect and although Bliss and Steven care deeply about each other, a snake in the form of Caprice is out to disturb their paradise. Will they believe in the strength of their feelings or will Caprice succeed in coming between them?
I love Bliss and Steven and the fact that they’re older, in their 30-40s. There isn’t much drama between them because they know how to handle it. There is plenty of sexiness, yet the sweet moments are also present.
I also like the secondary characters. Nicki, Jack, Albie, and Finn are funny as all get out and bring a level of hilarity and lightness to the story. Each character adds their touch to make it more interesting and when you add Steven’s dad and his wife, Melanie, to the mix, then you’re in for a hella good time ;-) All these characters and their interactions add so much richness to an already wonderful plot.
In her debut novel, Leslie Pike has given us characters that are full of depth. The plot is interesting and the book so well written. I can’t wait to see what more she has in store for us.
Wild In Paradise (Paradise #2)
This book is the second in the Paradise series, yet it can be read as a standalone.
Finn Kennedy has returned to acting, and he’s excited after his debut film did amazingly well. He’s ready to take on the world and the women falling at his feet.
Esme Scott is running away from a husband who’s abused her far too many times. Finally on her own, she’s unsure how to handle this new aspect of her life, yet she’s determined to make it and never depend on anyone again. Fate brings her to a movie set, where her skills at sowing land her the Wardrobe assistant job.
Like everyone else, Esme is mesmerized by Finn. His good looks attract her, yet she’s young and somewhat inexperienced. Finn is also attracted to her and at first doesn’t know what to make of the shy newbie.
Their relationship starts off slow, with a few stolen glances and conversations, but once they go on their first date, it’s guns blazing. They are good together and Finn takes such care of her. I love how he is with her. Esme is so sweet yet Finn brings out a different woman, strong and passionate.
The characters are well developed and we get to see past favorites, like Steven and Bliss. I was excited to read about them again; Steven with his possessive streak and Bliss with her helpful nature. We meet new characters and one in particular will be very important in this story, Father Paul Cruz. A friend of Finn’s, Father Cruz will be assisting in the new film and his life will be forever changed as he’s introduced to new and unexpected experiences. He is one character I really enjoyed.
The story flows at a perfect pace and will keep you entertained with both the funny and sexy scenes. The incredible writing brings the characters to life, making you feel like you know them and you start to care about them.
Another great read by Leslie Pike.
The Road to Paradise (Paradise #3)
What an absolutely fantastic way to end the series!
Leslie has given us all her men and women together in one book, allowing us to see the continuation of their stories in one big bowl of goodness with a side of laughter, tears, anger, and love. The HOT factor is off the charts and the characters we have come to love just keep giving us more to remember them by.
I love all of Leslie’s men, but maybe, just maybe, Jack is taking a little step ahead in this book.
The writing continues to evolve and the character development is just fantastic, showing us how wonderful these characters have been from the beginning. The dynamic of their friendships, the way they handle what life throws their way, and the way they love each other, all elements that Leslie has woven in such a way that you can’t help but want to be a part of their story. Amazing!
The Trouble with Eden
Leslie Pike's debut novel, The Trouble With Eden, is a sexy and entertaining read. The story is told from the view points of both main characters, Bliss and Steven, which helped heighten the emotional experience and journey.
I loved Bliss right away. She is such a strong heroine, but also has a softer vulnerable side. She's smart, independent, knows what she wants, and is unwilling to settle. Yes, her stubbornness causes some problems, but it's understandable given the circumstances. My favorite part about Bliss is her passion. Passion for her life, her work, and her love. Her road was not an easy one, but she's fought hard to become the woman that she is and is proud of it. I'm not usually a fan of instalust and I will admit that this pushed my limits, but I thought what developed as a result was so genuine and true that it didn't matter in the end. Bliss and Steven may not have had a conventional love story, but I think it was incredibly relatable.
This book also features some of the funniest and most colorful secondary characters I have ever read. A few you will love to hate and others will have you laughing out loud. There's a good dose of drama and angst, but it fits with the story and only strengthens the relationship between Bliss and Steven. I did get a little lost with all the information about Steven's stunt work and the entertainment industry, but the details painted a really vivid picture of what was going on with our characters. Overall, The Trouble With Eden is a wonderful love story and I look forward to reading more of Leslie's books.
Wild in Paradise
What a roller coaster of emotions! Wild in Paradise focuses on Finn Kennedy, who we met in Leslie Pike's first book, The Trouble With Eden. Although this is the second book in her Paradise series, it can be read as a stand alone.
I don't want to give away too much, but I loved the journey that each of the characters took in this book. Yes, it's a love story, but it's also a story about taking control of your life. Finn has a second chance at his career, but will he be able to resist the temptations and demons of his past? Esme is running from an abusive marriage and trying to rebuild her life. Paul is reevaluating his calling in life and trying to determine if that path is still the one he wants to travel. Everyone is at a crossroads in their life, and I couldn't wait to see how it all played out.
Wild In Paradise certainly lived up to it's title with the sexy times (climb the ladder anyone?) I also loved reconnecting with many of the characters from The Trouble With Eden, especially Bliss and Steven. Overall, this was an entertaining and sexy story that dealt with some heavier real life issues.
The Road to Paradise
What a great way to end the series! I have enjoyed every couple so far, but I think that Jack and Nikki are my favorite. Yes, there is drama and Jack and Nikki's relationship is put to the test, but that only made things more compelling. This story is raw and beautiful and will leave you a bit of an emotional mess at times, but that's what makes it so relatable. Aren't we all just looking for our own road to paradise (happiness)?
One of my favorite things about The Road to Paradise was catching up with the characters from the previous books, like Bliss, Steven, and Finn. It was so fun to see how they were all doing and how their lives were progressing. Although this can be read as a stand alone, it would be best enjoyed after reading the previous 2 books in the series so that you are more familiar with the characters. A wonderful book to close the series!!
The Trouble with Eden - This was a love story with grown-ups. Both Bliss and Steven know who they are, what they are looking for and how they think they want their lives to play out. When they meet it is definitely an instant attraction, but after only a few hours spent together it is apparent that they know their meeting is so much more. I liked that they seemed real with one another. They didn't hold back, keep secrets (well not too much) or play games with each other. Now this is not to say that there weren't the usual drama points because what would a good story be without them, but it all worked to make them a better couple.
Wild in Paradise- Finn. Paul. Esme. The characters in WILD IN PARADISE grabbed from the start and made me love them! There was so much in this book from Leslie Pike's Paradise Series!
The Road to Paradise - Absolutely loved the story arc of this book! The third in this series. It centers on Jack and Nikki, who we met first in The Trouble with Eden, but incorporates all the couples and characters we've grown to love throughout the series! I thought Leslie did a masterful job of weaving all the storylines together here. These characters may be celebrities but she shows that despite the limelight that follows them, these are all just people looking for their happy, their own road to paradise so to speak. Sometimes that road is fraught with drama and angst, sometimes with laughter and tears but always with lots of love and heart! What a beautiful way to wrap this much enjoyed series!!
