About the Author
M.K. Parsons is an asker of questions and a thinker of thoughts. Her word-loving obsession developed early and she has always been a storyteller.

I love that the story is from Levi's perspective. To me, his character is more enjoyable to read, stronger and perhaps better written, than that of the original leading character, Roxy.
I love the history factor. Bringing Nathan Hale and George Washington into the mix was a blast to read. The author's take on them was both amusing and believable. Reading about the beginning of the USA brought back vague memories of things once learned. It had me excited to read more and a need to follow up with history searches to see how closely the author followed actual historical events (She did well by the way).
When I thought I had things figured out, I found myself surprised by twists I did not expect. This of course thrilled me!
Overall I enjoyed this book far more than I had expected to. I didn't want to put the book down. If I could have, I would have finished the book within a few days, but unfortunately I do not have that much available time. The only flaw I can find is that I have to wait to read the next book in the series.
