As soon as we received this package, she was excited. Maybe it was the smell. But the second I gave her her first hedgehog, she was all over it. She first took it to her bowl (what a good girl!), then she examined it critically (what the heck is this weird thing?), then she picked it up and tried to bite it, and then she walked all over the house with it (maybe showing off to the cat?). Finally, she laid it down in her safe place - which, in her whimsical way, is on the floor on my side of the bed. So that when I get up to use the bathroom in the night, my foot steps right on the hedgehog protrusions. Yeah, not looking forward to that!
It's too soon to tell if this will work for cleaning her teeth. We're not worried about her chewing things in the house. We hope that she takes to this and it gives her a good oral workout. Will update this review as things unfold. But, for the price and based on her initial reaction, I don't regret buying this at all!
My Dog: She loved these so much she would growl when I would try to take it away from her. She would even take it outside when she had to pee just so I wouldn't take it away!
Me: These left little smelly "crumbs" everyplace. If she ate one on a blanket, the blanket would have to be washed right away. She would also eat these way too fast and once broken down I was afraid she would choke on them
I personally have gone back to regular raw-hide as a every now and then treat that I throw away once it becomes small.
