Thru the book we have to try and solve the disappearances of shifters, so we get to have a little drama and action. I would have liked to have more details in the action instead of basically saying it was done, a little fighting.
The book was still a great addition to the PDA storyline and you get a sense of family with the shifters and this shows you that You don't have to be the same to be a family.
Until Next Time....Tabi
Daegan, a cop, is the human grandson of one of Gerri's friends. She tricks him into driving her to meet
Sypher, the pack alpha who wants to help his pack find mates so they would stop leaving the pack. It turns out many Shifters were disappearing and they all set out to solve the mystery. It's a sad ending because all the missing people were killed, all except Daegan's best friend who it turns out is the Mate of Syphers best friend and second in command. Hopefully we'll get to find out more about Blaine and Soren story later down the road. <3
Along with the matings, there are missing pack members and as alpha Sypher is asked to investigate. Deagan comes along, hoping to find his missing best friend. Then another little subplot pops up with Nala's father and threats as well as a death. I assume this tangent was to bring in Nala's mate and his friends. And what I really wanted to know is if her mate was a grim reaper - Able to harvest souls. Because he doesn't harvest any. I'm also guessing about how Nala solved that tangent with her family. A friend is dead and there wasn't enough follow up. Just that her mate also passed and that in itself was sad. This whole scenario was what lowered my rating for this story. That and I do read m/m stories and the male on male action in this story is written like two teens getting it on. These weren't scenes of a developing love between two fated mates, and Sypher is centuries old! You'd think he'd treasure his mate and treat his mate with love in words and actions. In other words, the smex scenes need work. Two stars - Dan's Wife
