Tune in and find out...if you've got the guts!
I'm sure someone out there might like it, but I couldn't even get through the whole thing. I was hoping for some sort of intelligent parody but this was just a bunch rude jokes about body parts with bad acting and a lame or non-existant script. I mean, I almost kind of wanted to like the actors, but I think I just felt sorry for them. Imagine having this on your resume... I rather resent having spent $1.99 on it, because I doubt they spent that much to make it. ;P
So it's 2 am and I can't sleep and I figured 2 bucks, what the heck...OMG!!!! This is possibly the WORST show I have ever purchased!!! It is a spoof on the "Ghost Hunters" series and while I can appreciate a joke (which most of this kind of stuff is) this is just foul mouthed raunchy stuff. Don't buy it unless you are into someone being sexually abused by their refrigerator...(yes, really!!!) if so, then this is your cup of tea...as for me...ICK!!!
If you've watched a lot of paranormal "reality" shows, you know all about the annoying gimmicks: the terrifying noises that cause everyone to freak out even though you can't hear jack, the special ghost-detecting devices that look like Halloween props, that kind of thing. You can only watch so much of it before it gets boring and no matter how many beers you drink, adding your own running commentary stops being entertaining. Well, in this movie, the cast more or less does the commentary for you, nailing trope after trope.
To its credit, this one makes absolutely no attempt (that I could see) to be scary or creepy. There's no question that it's a parody. For this reason, I think the people who would most enjoy this are those who haven't already been burned out on the genre. For everyone else, it could get tedious.
A few good things: - They keep it moving. I hate watching docs that use a ton of establishing lots to fill time, or scenes where everyone stands around in total silence for five minutes at a time, occasionally asking the spirit to make a noise or whatever, or where everyone just squeals and yells "What was that?" over and over again. - Rex (the main character) and the priest had some funny lines.
Not so much: - The psychic was annoying, but I guess that's the point. - Nothing new for longtime fans of the genre. - I don't really mind rude humor if it's done well, and only about half of the jokes here are decent. The other half seem like something a kid in junior high would write.
Yeah yeah another no budget shot on digital video movie. But lots of fun featuring a very funny cast and some truly funny moments. Way more entertaining than actual paranormal tv programs! Give it a chance.
