About the Author

Parenting the Severely Disabled Adult is K. Fischer's first book. The prevalent amount of her writing experience has been articles, newsletters, and pamphlets for non-profit businesses, schools, and special interests. As a missionary assistant she taught in Taiwan, and subsequently spent twenty-six years in special education, and six years as a high school transition counselor for the disabled. Kathleen has been a step-parent to her Debbie, her disabled adult for more than fourteen years. A native of New Jersey, she graduated from Rowan University, and the University of Phoenix. She has taught in New Jersey, Taiwan, Hawaii, and Nevada. She has also presented parent and teacher workshops across the country. She enjoys traveling and photography in her spare time.Parenting the Severely Disabled Adult is K. Fischer's first book.
