My son just came in from the pool, heard me laughing uproariously and said, "Are you STILL reading those comments?" I assured him that I did other things today... I bet he wouldn't have opened his mouth if I had had a pistol on my hip. Sigh.

There is a war raging in the United States. Those who are opposed argue that using it implies a lack of seriousness, a lack of education, and a flouting of social mores. Those who love it are more rabid about its appropriateness in all situations, wanting to show it off in restaurants, coffee shops, and even the library. Whether it's used at work to passive-aggressively tell a co-worker to stop eating your leftovers or it's used in the neighborhood to generate interest so the kids will come to a birthday party, those on the pro side completely ignore study after study that scientifically show that its use just isn't a good idea.
Am I talking about using a gun? No. I'm talking about using Comic Sans. This book is typeset in COMIC SANS. For the love of all that is good and pure, Mr. Jeffs, if you don't want your ideas about open carry to sound crazy, how about you write about them in a legible font that didn't go out with Windows 95?

Rednecks Explain Gun Fetish
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 4, 2015Verified Purchase
This is an abhorent message, often inaccurate in the facts presented, abysmally written and abysmally plotted. The authors are entitled to their political opinions, but to aim this propaganda at 13 year olds is intellectually corrupt.
The pictures are nicely done, though. And it is frequently unintentionally hilarious.

Thanks to the 2nd amendment there are 90 times the number of intentional gun-related deaths in the US compared to the UK, but this book may go some way to reducing the unintentional death rate, which is 30 times higher in the US due to the 2nd amendment. Never mind that the 'bad guys' in any country arm themselves to shoot at one another rather than the general public, which might neatly explain that other advanced civilisations banned guns and not only didn't go to hell, but actually thrived and significantly reduced their mortality rates. It takes a sort of hubristic egoism to even think you'll even be a key player should anything go down. One wonders if the founding fathers made sex with horses a constitutional right Americans would be so keen to defend it, then again they seem happy to make it up as they go along, adding God back in where the founding fathers pointedly created an athiest country. Here's to the next school massacre!
