About the Author
Born in Pennsylvania, Tom Brosnahan joined the US Peace Corps in 1967, went to Turkey to teach English, and discovered a fascinating land virtually unknown to most travelers. Tom wrote his first travel guidebook, Turkey on $5 a Day, (Frommer's, 1970) as a Peace Corps project. After graduate school and historical research in the archives of the Ottoman Empire, Tom devoted himself to writing and photography. His 40 travel guidebooks for Lonely Planet, Frommer’s and Berlitz, translated into a dozen languages, covered Belize, Canada, Egypt, England, France, Guatemala, Israel, Mexico, Morocco, New England, Tunisia and Turkey. He now writes and photographs his own travel websites including FranceTravelPlanner.com, TurkeyTravelPlanner.com, and NewEnglandTravelPlanner.com, which receive up to seven million annual visitors from 230+ countries. Tom has served as a Contributing Editor to Budget Travel magazine and has appeared on ABC's Good Morning America, NPR's Talk of the Nation, the Travel Channel and Public Radio International's The Connection. He has given lectures at the American Turkish Council's annual conference, the Smithsonian Institution, the Cooper-Hewitt National Musem of Design, and other organizations. "Paris Girls Secret Society" is his first novel.
