it started with the clip hitting the matte black body..
It is a joy to hold though, it has a good weight writes how its supposed to write..
I wish, i chose a different color.. i also wish they made the body/barrel not matte painted but just a solid piece ofe metal, or maybe anodized.. because eventually the matte paint will wear off.
This review is for: Parker Urban Premium Matte Black Medium Point Ballpoint Pen (1795271) (Office Product)
Sleek, nice looking pen. I do press hard on the writing surface, but prefer to leave a clean line. Dislike pens that sometimes smudge the page, for by then it is too late. This pen leaves a light ink, not as deep, as perhaps, a gel pen would leave, thick and dark, but since it does its job in such a tidy way, it leaves none, or a very little chance for unwanted marks on the written paper. In the looks department I will confess the following: almost immediately after I received this pen, which is a smooth midnight black-no stars, I purchased the deep brown of the same collection. The reason I did it is two fold: first because by mistake I had ordered two refills for the pen, instead of one. Secondly, because I do like the way these pens look. I had my eyes on the Sonnet Red, which I think it looks awesome, but at $68+ it was the price of two of these. I am sure which one I will be getting next, but in the meantime, this pen, and the soon to follow, are quite an arsenal to deliver to paper the written word. I always liked Parker pens, have used the fountain pens since an early age, and fallen in love with the ink cartridges back then. I have also used more expensive ones, but Parker is a very decent writing instrument, and completely meets the criteria I look for in a pen. Nice weight, smooth writing, and dependable mechanism that will last. As to the longevity part, I can not presently say much, for only time will tell. As for the looks, yes, very nice looking, would certainly make a nice present for someone. I prefer Ballpoint, but I am being more and more, wanting to also have a Rollerball, even though they are water based? Will have to study the specs, but I suspect that Ballpoint does not leave as many marks as Rollerballs? 4 Stars.
PS: Now that I have been using this pen for at least 4 months (today is 12/20/2013) I must point out that on occasions the pen stops working, maybe the ink does not come out, so I have to use a piece of paper to get the ink going again. Also, the ink on the pen finally ran out, even though I expected a little more durability, so buying the extra ink replacements was a good idea. They still look good, but I keep thinking a more expensive pen perhaps would falter a little less? Do like them a lot.
It looks great, good quality ink. My father liked the pen so much that he replaced it with his old pen.
I would like to say that the pen came with a black ink, If you are a blue color fan then you have to by a blue refill.
The Pen is a bit bulky, and the grip is not that comfortable, I would not recommend it for a long writing sessions.
I recommend this pen for people who want a pen with a fancy look, good quality ink, and less time writing with it.
For people like students or for a job that demands them to write for a long time I wouldn't consider it.
If it is a gift I would recommend it, cause of it's amazing look, great quality of the ink, and the pen itself. Also, it doesn't feel cheap.
I hope I helped ^^
