I bought this to make a tiny personal Birthday cake for my daughter. I was worried that it would be hard to get the cakes out of the pan but I sprayed them with cooking spray and had no problem. You do have to be careful how much batter your pour in them because they are small. I put too much in them and they overflowed. When they were done I gently used a butter knife around the edges to help ease them out. I leveled them and they turned out perfect. I should also mention I have never made a tiered cake before but it was easier than I expected, it was so cute. I plan on starting a tradition and making a little cake every year for my kids! It would also be perfect for a 1 year old's "smash cake".

Also a bonus, they are the perfect size for my 4 year old to pretend play with when I am not using them!

I know these say mini, but mini isn't the word and the pictures of the cakes up above are so miss leading these pans are not even that wide and deep as those cakes show them to be,so I am posting a picture of their true size they are next to my tablet that is a 7" hope this is helpful for next person.

What is missing from the photo is someone's hand or a book so that we can see the scale of this pan set. The pan set is about the size of my hand. The dimensions are equally misleading as the 12 x 12 x 12 is the CUMULATIVE measurement of all three tiers. My ruler is measuring this as 2 in (height) by 4" diameter for the largest tin.

It is a cute tin and would make a cute cake for a child but what bothers me is that the discription and photo is misleading. I wonder how many people purchased this item thinking it was something that it was not.

The largest pan is 4x2, medium is 3x2, and smallest is 2x2. (All are 2 inches deep).

They are sturdy and not able to be bent by just using your hands, so they have that going for them! :)

They come with 3 gold colored foiled cardboard cake plates with a leaf and berry design.

The cake would be super cute if it was made as a wedding favor or as part of a larger round tier set. It would also be super adorable as the center piece of a ton of mini (muffin pan) cupcakes (as it is super small)!

I think $16 is fair for how well constructed they are and as they have their measurements etched on the bottoms, the description could have been more accurate, but, that was why I wrote this review, to give others the actual dimensions :)

My daughter wanted to bake cupcakes for a coworker's birthday. I just received these and offered her this option. They worked Great!
We used the baking instructions and time on the cake mix box for cupcakes as a starting point. That was perfect for the two smaller layers. The bottom layer took a few minutes more. I had her set the timer for 5 minute increments and had her do the toothpick test after each.
I was surprised and pleased that the pans released the cakes easily. My daughter started this on her own and I was worried when she said "I just sprayed them with the cooking spray." After cooling on a rack for cupcake time. I was able to pick them up and just pull them out of the pans. Icing and decorating was simple and fun. I highly recommend this set. Her friend was SO surprised and honored to get such a cute birthday acknowledgement.

This was exactly what i wanted. I'm not much of a baker to begin with, but despite that these mini pans make a wonderful looking little cake. My frosting skills also aren't very good, so what i made wasn't bakery material. Got these to make my girls one year birthday cake which she loved tearing apart. It was the perfect size for her to tear into. I would probably buy these again as a gift for someone else who like to bake more than i do.
