I really, really LOVE this Authors writing style! Its very fast paste, non-boring! She is also very witty and things tend to get steamy!!!

So in the first book of this series we were introduced to Talia and Tom as secondary characters to Ava and Trevor. How cool is it that the "boys" seem to be getting their own books? Is Nick next? I'll find out with Part 3 (Out of My Element.) I SO can't wait to find out!

Okay so I totes got sidetracked, back to where I was... Oh yea, so we meet Talia and Tom and they were like really funny! Especially Talia!!! If ever a girl crush, from a fictional standpoint, I'd pick Talia! She has the most humorous personality, EVER! She's a softy. We also get to see what is happening with Trevor and Ava. I'm happy that the Author didn't just chop them out completely and switch the side-characters to main. The back and fourth POV of both guy and girl is still there. Its written well! THANK YOU TARYN for finally writing a guys POV that didn't SUCK the life out of a book! They usually go super cheesy or borderline feminine, not that that's bad... its just... I don't know. I guess I really like the guys to be bad boys with warm hearts!

I do recommend!

After a hard day teaching the reproductive system to his high school students all Tom Crawford wanted to do was go home and rest. His friends tried to convince him to go out with them to visit the local clubs, but instead he selected to spend a quiet night at home.

Tom’s quiet night turned into one of horror when he is struck by a van. As he feels his car spin out of control he tries to brace himself for the final impact. Before he realizes what the extent of his injuries will be, he is plunged into a world of darkness.

Talia is an Emergency Nurse; she loves her job for she has always wanted to be able to help others. Her latest patient comes in a PennSTAR Medi Vac; she learns that he has been involved in a serious car accident. Her patient is covered in blood and has suffered massive injuries. The worse seems to be the trauma to his left leg. Talia quickly prepares him for the scans and x-rays the doctor orders, as she works on the patient she feels there is something about him that seems familiar.

When Talia gets a moment away from her job, she goes to find out the identity of her gravely injured patient. She is shocked to learn that he is a close friend of hers, Tom Crawford. She calls in their other friends to alert them to what has happened to Tom. The group comes together to pray for Tom’s recovery.

When the surgeon finally comes to tell them of Tom’s condition, they learn that they were not able to save his left leg. Talia knows the loss will be devastating for his life revolves around sports and spending time partying with his friends.

With Tom having no family to take care of him, his friends question how they will be able to rearrange their schedule to help out their friend.

I read a lot. A. Lot. I often find books that I recommend to my friends, and this is definitely one of them (the whole three-book series, actually). But it's rare that I finish a book wanting to actually be a part of it. This group of friends was written so well that I feel like I actually know them. The writing was fantastic. The relationships grew realistically. It's worth the money and the time - buy it, you'll see!

After finishing the first book, In My Arms, I was so glad to see that book two would involve Tom and Talia. I loved these two characters when I read about them in Ava and Trevor's story and wanted to know more. I wasn't expecting some of the heartbreaking moments such as the scene in the ER where Talia works, I won't spoil it by saying more. This was another sweet romance by the author with some steamy moments in between. Nick graced us with his presence again and his fun quips with Talia are always entertaining. I love the friendship between the three guys, Trevor, Nick, and Tom, the brotherly love guy bond they share is wonderful. Ava calling Talia on her BS moments are priceless. I really enjoyed reading about these characters and just bought book 3!

Book two and this series is getting better and better.

We get to experience Tom in the first book. He shows his interest in Ava's mouthy, quirky friend, Talia, in the first book. There was some flirting, some dancing and some sort of friendship developing. He even broke out of his mold and defended her honor at one point in book one...so out of character for him that it shocks his friends, as well as Talia.

But in this book, an unfortunate turn of events truly pushes these two characters to the very edge...to the point that they are going to either jump together, jump alone or not jump at all. But whatever they choose to do, the question will remain, "Will they be able to fix what is broken if the wrong decision is made?"

Talia is on the receiving end of the unfortunate incident that occurs in the very beginning of this book. I found myself clutching my chest and gasping for air when I read it. It was like, "NO NO NO." The author wasted no time dragging you in, pulling you under and surrounding you with fear, grief, shock, pain, surprise and uncertainty. Tom was the most calm, honest and level headed of the group and now....*sighs*

But Talia refuses to leave Tom alone to suffer through this ordeal. She not only cares for him, but considers him a friend and wants to be there for him in every way possible...not just for his benefit but for that of her own heart.

While it is understandable that Tom is feeling deflated, and even his behavior and harsh tone and words are understandable, it does not make the blow of them any easier to hear or witness. It makes sense, it is realistic and it makes you hurt for Talia and ache for Tom's healing. You hope he realizes what he is doing and has done and snaps out of it.
