Obviously, a 101-ounce can is too big for table use or to keep by the stove. After lifting the spout and twisting off the cap, I pour oil into a clean pyrex measuring cup--2 or 4 cup. Then I pour it into a table dispenser and a cooking dispenser. i store the large can in the pantry. Not such a terrible inconvenience.
Original review: The tin keeps the olive oil very well, even though the package that was shipped ended up in freezing weather overnight. However, it is extremely difficult to pour this oil out of the tin. We ended up with a good amount of it on the table. I suppose that the wood table probably benefits from some conditioning (ha-ha), but be mindful of this when and where you open it.
The olive oil does taste better than what we have been buying in the store. We aren't "foodies," and weren't blown away by this. Keep in mind that we're not so much into olives, either. However, we are interested in making sure that what we put into our bodies is healthy, and old enough to be interested in keeping our joints. One of us is a super-taster, and this oil is fresh, with no off taste or bitterness.
We invested in some olive oil dispensers, too, and we are using those to infuse some of the oil with herbs and spices, so that it is always ready to go and convenient to include those in our cooking, too. Going forward, we'll probably buy this same brand again, though we'll likely opt for the bottle rather than the tin.
I hope that this is helpful to you. Do let me know, and happy shopping to you!
Update...I found the same product same size at Penn Mac in Pittsburgh for $10.00 less.
