I used this book and this book only. I work full time 40+ hours a week. I spent a good 4 weeks, (average around 1 hour a day) and passed the 7 with a 78! It was an easy read, and related it to real life. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to get in the securities business.

I just got back from my Series 7 test, and passed it with an 84! My company had given me the STC training manuals, which had me alternatively reduced to tears and/or sleep. Thank God I bought this book. Walker explains everything in clear language, and once I'd read it, it was like a lightbulb went on over my head. Okay, so I didn't get a 90. But I passed FIRST TIME, with an 84! I can't recommend this book enough.

I used this book as the single study material with the supplement of Series 7 Exam Simulation Computer CD (500 test questions) by [...] to pass Series 7 examination on February 4, 2008. My graduate study in Finance might help in passing this examination at 88% score too.

This book is interesting to read and easy to understand. The information provided should be adequate for passing this examination; however, there are minor information, particularly in ordering and transacting securities and regulations area not covered adequately by this book but appeared on the examination I took. Therefore, in addition to this book, one would want to buy examination simulation tests (from other vendors) that have at least 500 test questions for practice and supplement learning. These test simulation materials shall provide answers to questions for the preparation.

I am benefited by this book and previous reviewers' comments, which helped me in purchasing this book. I feel obligated to share this information with you, thank the author and Amazon.com's market place. Good luck on the exam.

I am a Colorado CPA who had securities licenses (7.63.24.3) back in the 90's. Due to a change of the mortgage market, "ahem", I had to retest to get back in the business.

I took the 65 (85 % score), 63(90% score) and 7(90% score) and am pleased as can be with Mr. Walker's books. Not only do they contain the facts that are needed to pass the exams, but is actually presented in a format that you are still interested in, and awake by the time you get there! Really brilliant training materials. As an active license CPA I can only ask, when is he going to do that too?

Again, thanks so much. OUTSTANDING study materials.

I passed yesterday with the help of this book! Originally, I was handed STC materials and told "good luck". I had no prior exposure to the investment world and was really overwhelmed. Well, after a week of trying to read a book heavy enough to give you a torn rotator cuff, I started searching for some alternatives. I came across this book and found it very easy to read. It takes a lot of work to pass this test but Mr. Walker has a way of putting things in a narrative format. You will find yourself at times actually enjoying the content! There are other support materials available (highly recommend additional quizzes either on disk or printed material) from the author as well that are also worth checking out but if you are struggling, this book will make sense of the material. I am also a picky person when it comes to studying materials so I prefer a brand new book vs. a used because it helps to highlight what you need to study, not what someone else may have struggled with. So my advice is, buy it new, not used if you are taking this for the first time.

As a side note about studying this material in general, there are some video lectures out there that really help tie a lot of this stuff together for those that need a "visual" (especially when it comes to Options)and it complements this book nicely. Also, I believe Mr Walker is working on a DVD or video of material soon so I would definitely keep an eye out for that! Good luck!

Let me start off my saying that I *did* pass my S7 last week with a 77%. Not the score I wanted, but passed none-the-less. I am now studying for the 65 and I have come back to order the "Pass the 65" by the same author. So, if I didn't think it was beneficial, I wouldn't be coming back.

I used this book as a supplement to the more technical and dry material (Fire Solutions) that was provided through my employer. I would say that if I relied on this book (Pass the 7) alone, I probably would NOT have passed. With that being said, I also think if I did NOT have this book to aid in comprehending the more difficult concepts such as options, I also would not have passed. So I can say it was a beneficial investment for me.

The book was lacking some of the topics that were covered in the actual test, and some of the info seemed to be dated. The chapter quizzes were way too easy. However, I feel it did give a great view from another perspective, which is important when trying to comprehend such a complex subject; Especially for this 42 year old brain.

My advice: (#1) If you are getting this book, make sure you purchase additional study materials from another source to ensure you don't miss anything (i.e Fire Solutions). It will give you a much more holistic perspective on the subjects covered. (#2) I also recommend using the free tests and information provided by [...]....yet another perspective, but helpful overall.

Good luck!
