Editorial Reviews

"This is an account of a soul and her journey - how fate works, how life and soul lessons are learned. Thank you soul, for writing this book."
Linda Wormhoudt, Author and shamanic teacher,

"Lenagh shares her rites of passage with openness, deep honesty and intimacy. A must read for those who seek their soul's true design."
Robin Youngblood Author, Path of the White Wolf

"Lenagh's vivid prose and extraordinary narrative technique held me spell-bound."
Sabine Eiche, writer and columnist

"A narrative so honest in its depth it touches the soul of the reader. Lenagh traces her journey of self and spiritual realization from the shy young girl to the wise elder. A treat to read and savor."
Melissa Usrey, M.A., MFT, Marriage and Family Therapist (retired)

From the Author

'My story isn't sweet and harmonious, like invented stories. It tastes of folly and bewilderment, of madness and dream, like the life of all people who no longer want to lie to themselves.'
Hermann Hesse

This is a book about my own life's journey. But it could be a tale of anyone's journey: yours, your mother's or a friend's. It is a story about making choices, overcoming difficulties, and finding hope.

I was faced with the challenge of not only telling the story but, at the same time, sharing the insights I have about it now. And so I dipped into the depths of our collective unconscious: mythology, dreams and visions, and the archetypes they hold.

Musing on the need for an unbiased commentary on what was happening, an all-knowing aspect of myself, I was reminded of the chorus in classical Greek tragedies. That's when the Norns came in, mythological personages who have appeared in different guises through the ages.

We can find universal truths in the subconscious realms of myth and metaphor that help each of us see our own lives clearly. You may find yourself projecting your story onto mine and wondering if I'm describing the same thing. That is absolutely fine, it means you are engaged in the narrative and recognizing your own truth. Which is what I hope you will do: think about the path you are taking in life. Maybe you will find hope in my description of the choices I made... even those choices that seemed to be all wrong, at first.

If you find yourself looking for explanations, let the need go. Let the flow of the narrative take you deeper into the universal truths that rule all our lives. This book isn't about explanations, it's about moving on, spiraling towards who we really are.

Needless to say, I have changed the names of all the (human) protagonists in the book, in order to provide a modicum of privacy
