I love that this book starts right where the last one left off, giving us a great back story to Ryan without bogging us down in the past. The author continues to craft wonderful, strong characters (especially the females).
Each of these books can stand alone, but I warn you, if you read one, you'll want to read the other. However, I would recommend reading them in order, it just fits better.
For those who aren't familiar with the series, it takes place on a pastoral planet inhabited by humanoids, but not humans. This, the second book, shows what can happen when advanced technology is introduced unintentionally and follows our heroes on their next stage in life.
The only thing I would suggest to the author is that I felt less of a connection with Myra in this book than the first. She's a fantastic character, and I wish we'd spent more time with her.
It is difficult to classify The Passion Trilogy by genre. It would fit comfortably in fantasy, sci-fi, romance, futuristic, and others. If you enjoy any of these genres, I would recommend picking up this series. There is one erotic scene, but it fits well in the story, not just put in randomly.
I enjoyed the book very much and eagerly await the third book!
