Gender neutral language. Based in Right-to-Left format. Lots of English leader-and-group responsive readings. Contains Hebrew sections with English translations, and also transliterations for the primary blessings. The Four Questions are not transliterated, but are in English and Hebrew. The Four Children are children, not SONS. Dayenu is in Hebrew and English, no transliteration. There is a full Grace After Meals in Hebrew and Hallel is in Hebrew and English. Contains 25 pages of music.

This book is great. The language is poetic and powerful. It is even gender-inclusive and socially conscious without seeming new-agey. The illustrations are beautiful and dreamy. This haggadah is very versatile and provides a lot of choices for planning your Seder.

Our extended family has tried out other haggadot, but we always come back to this one. The gender-sensitive language is done very well -- it doesn't stick out at all. The book is a work of art!

Our family has used this Haggadah since the early 1970's. We love it. It makes the Holiday meaningful for my children and grandchildren, a great spiritual, religious, and bonding Haggadah. I was raised as a strict Orthodox Jew, but as much as I loved seders as a child, this book is more compelling than the older Maxwell House Coffee seder books. My children and grandchildren love the seder, and Christian guests have asked if they could have one of the Baskin Haggadahs, including an East German guest who grew up in Nazi Germany.

The other reviews for this Haggadah are glowing, so allow me to disagree.

I bought several copies this Haggadah only because it had a Russian edition available on Amazon. We have some English copies and some Russian copies and used them for our family's three-generational Russian/English seder. I can honestly say that I think every one of those generations was bored by this Haggadah. The language may be gender-neutral, but it is convoluted and verbose. It was not engaging at all. The youngest at the table, who is six and absolutely loves reading and listening to stories, was completely checked out.

Now I have to buy a whole new set of Haggadot.

The art work in this Haggadah is enough to justify its purchase. The Hebrew is translated thoroughly and I assume faithfully (but how would I know). I have always found it very satisfactory for my seders that include adults and children of diverse faiths and non-faiths. If I were to improve it, I would place some of the songs that are at the back of the book at the portion of the service where it is appropriate to sing them (Dayenu, for instance).

We purchased 12 of these Haggadahs years ago. We discovered we apparently misplaced one last year and could find only 11. We have 12 people coming for Seder this year. Panic!!! But no need for panic - LevineJudaica got it to us in plenty of Time. Thank you!!!
