About the Author
_________________________________ Dana Countryman is the former founding editor and publisher of the eclectic "Cool and Strange Music Magazine." He's also been a professional musician, having appeared on national television several times. Both of these backgrounds came into play, when he decided to write the biography of legendary French electronic pop music pioneer, Jean-Jacques Perrey. The book was written with full permission of Perrey, giving Countryman full access to a lifetime of photographs, recordings and contracts, gathered over Perrey's lifetime. Countryman lives in the North Seattle area, in Washington State, with his wife Tricia, son Matt, and two high-maintenance cats. _________________________________

My wife and I attended that concert and I had tears in my eyes to be in the same small room with the man whose music had meant so much to me for well over 40 years.
In time, Dana and I corresponded a bit via email and I came to be aware he was working on a biography of this incredibly talented and warm-hearted musician. When the book hit the stores, I snatched up a copy.
I have to say that Dana has done an outstanding job of bringing together so many photographs and anecdotes and just plain straight forward recollections of JJP's life. If you are aware of Jean-Jacques Perrey and his literally hundreds of musical compositions, you will LOVE this book. If you are not familiar with the man, I suggest you buy any of his albums and play them in the background as you read through this wonderful book.
My thanks to Dana Countryman for putting this book together. I absolutely recommend it to anyone who wishes the world were a better place and who can appreciate the life story of a man who has strived to make it so his entire life.
Jean-Jaques Perrey is one of our few global treasures and a man who brings joy to everyone through his music. This biography is an excellent reflection of his life's work and of the man as a fellow human being striving to be the best he can be.
