Your Daughter’s Voice is the Key
All of her private thoughts and dreams are safe with this extra-secure journal. The gorgeous pink cover locks automatically when closed and stays locked until she speaks the secret password. Your daughter chooses the password and sets it with her own voice. Messages can also be customized — digital recording lets her personalize a greeting, signoff, and intruder alert. If anyone else tries to say her secret password, the intruder alert she recorded is sounded.
After setting the password, girls can choose from three levels of security, based on the secrets hidden inside. The lowest level doesn’t require a password. The next level accepts a password that is said softly or less clearly, while the top level requires perfect pronunciation for the ultimate in privacy and protection. For even more security, the Password Journal features a hidden compartment, where your daughter can store her most treasured belongings — valuables, mementos, and other items she wants to keep super safe. Plus, there’s an invisible ink pen for journaling her secret thoughts and dreams, writing stories, drawing pictures, and more. The invisible ink “magically” appears by using the special glow light.
- Password Journal’s sleek and modern design features three levels of security
- Only opens with your daughter’s specially recorded password
- She can also record a greeting, signoff, and intruder alert with her own voice
- A hidden compartment is perfect for storing super-secret stuff
- Use the invisible ink pen to write private thoughts, then reveal the words with the glow light
- Journal encourages your daughter’s self-expression and creativity

The voice password works surprisingly well: I tried opening it, even saying the right word in the wrong voice will not open it! I then tried to imitate her 8-YO girl voice to the best of my ability for several minutes, only to have my wife yell at me to STOP IT because it was so ridiculous and weirdly annoying to her who was sitting nearby, on the phone. The kids had a good laugh.
The secret light thingy works well too, but she doesn't seem to use it as much.
All was well until she had a friend come over, and play with it without permission. After the friend was done, she tossed it on the bed, fell off the bed, and broke it. We had to buy another one. Dangit
She also loves the invisible ink pen that comes with it along with the special light that makes the ink visible. She was so happy to receive this and has already left lots of secrets inside. I only wish they had diary's this secure back in the day when my big brother so easily picked the little locks on "old fashioned" diaries.
It works very well. She recorded her "password" on high quality and even she has to say it back exactly or it won't let her in. I have tried it and it won't let me in either. There is a reset so I as a parent (or anyone else) could reset it but then she would know and why? She is very honest and why shouldn't she have her "private" journal. As a divorced dad, I think she should have her own place to record her thoughts and secrets.
On the positive side, she LOVES the pen light and secretive writing capabilities. She enjoys the spacious storage and the overall size of the item. She really does love her new diary, but in all honesty though, she's mostly given up on the voice-lock.
The batteries have not been replaced a year later after pretty regular use, although we have replaced the notebook 3 or 4 times. A small dollar store notepad fits just fine. It holds little treasures in a small compartment and is the perfect starter journal!
My daughter is still thanking me for getting this for her! If you're a Good Quality person then I highly recommend this item.
