The most anticipated RnB album has finally dropped. Today will forever be known as #JodeciDay. This album fits in with past Jodeci albums. I love how they kept thier original sound, yet the content is relevant to 2015. Good job to the production team. I look forward to seeing them on multiple award shows.

FYI... per this album, Jodeci is still relevant. Like I am soooo not kidding. They are still relevant and their music is age appropriate... for them and fans of R&B that grew up listening to them. No trying to recapture what they had in the 90's by using dated beats and old slang on this new album. And no trying to keep up with these young-un's and this overtly sexual sound we have to put up with today. Jodeci found a way to be up-to-date, and spot on with this new album. And not surprisingly, it can compete with anything out here right now.

And even though it's a current sound, I can still HEAR Jodeci. Like seriously, I hear them. (Insert my deadpan face here) The voices that crooned to me 20 years ago are still moving, crisp, and the gut-wrenching "OOOOH YEAH!" by K-Ci can stir the soul. They sound just like you'd expect... oh so good. Yes Jodeci! Come through and show them how to do it!

How long has it been since Jodeci's last album? 20 years? I was in high school back then. When I first heard Forever My Lady, I thought man these guys are gonna own the 90's and they did for the most part. Everyone recognized Jodeci and their songs; and DeVante Swing's musical genius. So when I heard they were releasing a new album I told myself. I got to get this and I'm glad I did. This truly is a Jodeci album. It's got a mix of the newer "style" of r&b, but overall still has that old nostalgic Bassment flavor.

The album starts off with an uptempo Too Hot that makes you want to bob your head and then it Devante just blows you out the water with Sho Out. I just can't stop playing this track. The beats, the flow, it's like 1995 all over again! Definitely one of the stand outs in the album. The next song is another song that bring backs memories of the album Diary of a Mad Band. If you took Checkin For You and put it in that album it would fit perfectly. Definitely another stand out song. The next song is "Those Things." It's a smooth bass full, original track with Timbalands distinct sound. A long time ago I didn't even know Tim and Devante collaborated, but I also dug Tims style especially his work with Ginuwine, Aaliyah and Justin Timberlake. Now I know why I'm a fan of both! Cut from the same cloth so to speak. Every Moment is the next song which again features Devantes just unique style. The production is just fantastic. Love the way the synths, bass, piano flows with the vocals. It's no wonder this song was also released as a single. Definitely another stand out. Nobody wins, reminds more of K-Ci and Jojos albums. Just seems to fit their style during the time they spent doing albums together. Incredible, is another great song.

I think R&B desperately needed this album from Jodeci as we are lacking the soul in this current form of R&B. Jodeci stuck with the formula from their previous albums and that is what I appreciate most about this album. Far too many times artists/groups that have been on a hiatus, make a comeback and conform. The original fans want the same formula. Anyway, this album is not a slam dunk for me, but it is a really dope reverse layup on a fast break! Some of the tracks are a little busy, but you still hear the Jodeci harmonies we are used to hearing. There is a nice play on words on a few songs AND you get the freaky Jodeci as well as the lovey dovey/ladies man Jodeci. I could have done without both versions of the “Nobody Wins” track, but my favorite song on the album is "Every Moment". Overall, it's a good buy because they are giving us something we are desperately missing....Oh, I needed some “ooh yeahs” from K-Ci!!!!
