Cooks up al-dente with great flavor. Doesn't fall apart like some wheat-free pastas do. And, I *LOVE* supporting American economy with this purchase! The rice is grown IN CALIFORNIA! AwEsOmE!

One of the most challenging aspects of going gluten free is figuring out which of the old favorite foods can be converted to a gluten free version that tastes like the old thing. This product makes that possible. I have it on Subscribe & Save to keep my pantry stocked, a completely even substitution, gluten free (GF), safe for Celiac Disease sufferers. AWESOME that it's made of rice grown IN THE USA by a USA company! Great way to help our economy and keep American workers employed :-)

Whenever you cook with GF pastas, YOU MUST COOL IMMEDIATELY when it's al dente to prevent it from overcooking and falling apart to mush. This is a different technique than cooking with wheat-based pastas, but pastas that are rice-based have to be managed differently, for good reason. I'd wager the reviewers who have slammed GF pastas didn't cool it immediately. It doesn't have to be cold, but you do have to drop it below the cooking temperature, so drain it and return it to the pan and fill the pan with lukewarm tap water. The heat from the pan will keep it at a good serving temperature, but the lukewarm tap water will cool the pasta below cooking temperature to keep it from breaking down. This pasta tastes MUCH better than the corn-based GF pastas (De Boles, Schar, etc.) In fairness, this product doesn't hold up as well as Tinkyada brand does for a GF pasta, though.

Well, if you've ever eaten brown rice pasta products you know that they can go mushy so fast. And the texture...blech.

And while I will say that this can get mushy if overcooked (and cooks a lot faster than you think!!) Once you've gotten the hang of it, you can get an al dente piece every time. What works for me is cooking it 3 minutes less than the recommended cooking time (give or take), draining the water and rinsing it quick and then kind of letting the hot moisture cook the rest through.

Gonna get the spaghetti version next as we are trying to cut out all "white" pastas!

I am gluten intolerant so have tried several pastas and this tastes fine and has a decent consistency but I being Italian really disliked the fact that the pasta will not twirl on the fork. There are other pastas that do not break up when cooked and are also made of brown rice flour. Our favorite one is made of quinuoa but that is a macaroni and not a spaghetti. If you are looking for real spaghetti, do not buy this pasta because it ends up so small that it is really just a macaroni product and not real spaghetti and should not be sold as such. It does taste good but it is NOT spaghetti...

I thought these were just OK. I have IBS and gluten is a big trigger, and my 5 year old has celiac, so we've been through the gamut on gluten free noodles. These are middle-of-the-road. They're very easy to turn into a sticky, gloppy mess of clumped nastiness. Their flavor is inoffensive, much better than ANY noodle with quinoa (YUCK) or those awful corn blends. They don't crumble, but I did find the noodles broke into tiny pieces very easily. You have to watch and test them like a hawk from about 6 minutes at a boil, they go from too-tough to mush without much of a window for al dente. It helps to rinse them with hot tap water when you strain them - I know you're always told not to, but the starch makes all sauces so thick and brick-like that you absolutely have to. I am not thrilled enough to subscribe, switching to another brand.
