Exceptionally current & practical, with concise & to-the-point, detailed, and well-researched advice on how to overcome the avalanche of mark-up hustlers by simply making your own arrangements. Worth at least 10x the asking price.

My trip to Patagonia starts next week and I just started booking accommodation a week ago. I was shocked by the prices thinking that South America would be at least a little cheaper than the US. But no, $90 per person to get a spot for setting up your tent. In desperation I quickly purchased this book and it ended up being a great relief. My trip total came out half the price as that I originally had in mind! Definitely worth the few bucks.

I'm planning a return trip to AR after having lived there nearly a decade ago. Upset that I never made it South, Patagonia on a Budget seemed an ideal guide. The book is infused with local "tricks of the trade", great budgeting advice and clever ways to leverage technology. I could have used more white space to navigate this dense e-book and perhaps a larger "big picture" map to help orient me to the vast space of Patagonia. Overall, the compelling photography and poignant travel tips got me excited to return to AR.

No brainer purchase!!!

Incredible guide to truly experiencing Patagonia on a budget. Investing in the stock market, one hopes to earn a good ole 6% each year. Why not save thousands of dollars on your trip to Patagonia? If you've ever considered that, why not try and save 90-95% by following Morgante's incredible money saving advice with this $10 book.

It's a very nice structured book that provides enough insights to organize a monthlong trip to Patagonia. It's very practical and easy to follow.

I came across Patagonia on a Budget right before a month long adventure through Patagonia. I had done a bunch of research already, and this travel guide proved to be more valuable than any of my prior research. I saved a lot of money by taking Matthew's advice (well a lot for a poor backpacker), and I did some awesome hiking and surprisingly efficient and safe hitchhiking.

The hitchhiking advice in this book is probably the most valuable. I hadn't been planning on hitchhiking nearly as much as i did, but with Matthew's advice on hitchhiking best practices and very specific instructions on which roads to hitchhike on to get to specific destinations, I was able to get most of the way down to the Deep South quickly and cheaply. My Spanish isn't very good so the Spanish Quickstart Guide was very helpful while hitchhiking.

Patagonia is unreal. You're going to see some incredible glaciers, lakes, volcanoes, etc. regardless of how you tackle the trip. If you want to save money while having a very authentic experience, follow Matthew's lead. Hitchhike and camp as much as possible, be prepared with proper gear and supplies and enjoy your trip!

This is an INCREDIBLE wealth of information--everything from the "dirt cheap"- to the "I'll splurge now and then"-backpacker, it's all here: what to wear, ideal routes, where/when to leave based on weather, how to find cheap flights/buses/etc. You won't be disappointed!
