I added a couple of tablespoonfuls of yoghurt to the mix as it is simmering, and either a tablespoonful of ghee (clarified butter) or butter/margarine will also enhance the flavor and minimize the strong vinegary taste. Also, the spice factor is described as medium on the label, but both my husband and I found it to be quite mild (this is subjective and will vary from one taste bud to another). I added some chili powder and that added some extra kick and spiciness to the dish.
This sauce can be used with chicken or shrimp, and also veggies such as green peas, potatoes, mushrooms etc. I serve it with raita (I use yoghurt, cucumber and tomatoes) and naan/chapati/rice. It tastes yummy and makes for a quick fix Indian meal without too much fuss!
Also, there seemed to be a slight edge to the taste. I liken it to the taste you find in canned tomatoes. In another review somebody described this sauce as "pure vinegar" and while I certainly don't think it's that bad, my guess is that they're referring to this same overtones. Also, you'll see other reviewers mention that they'd add coconut milk, yogurt and butter to this sauce and I think that any or all of these things would be a good way to take the edge off a little bit.
All in all it's pretty okay and I'm looking forward to trying some of the other Palak sauces.
Edited to note that I added about a tablespoon of butter to my final serving of this (about 1/4 of the bottle) and it really went a long way to improving the sauce. It took away some of the bite as well as smoothed out the heat. I definitely think that's the way to go and makes this a solid 4-stars. Just my opinion of course, YMMV.

This item is pretty much canned tomato sauce. It still had a strong tomato taste after adding, coconut cream, cumin, coriander, parsley and butter. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Woodz
This wasn't bad. I cook meals from scratch around 4/5 times a week and I've become quite a good home cook! Read morePublished 3 months ago by Amazon Customer
I read the reviews a bit before purchasing. Went with the tiki masala and the korma.
Unfortunately the sauce is, as many said, bitter and too vinger tasting. Read more
