We have two boys age 5 and 2.5 and they both beg to play this game. The 2 year old is not coordinated really to use the tongs or understand the game fully but he loves the vibrating and jumping bugs and tries to get the bugs with his hands. We just got this for Christmas but already we have played many times. I think the cardboard of the bed is going to be the first to go--I think we play rougher than most probably as one is a 2 year old and 3 of them are boys (my husband is my "oldest" boy). :)

My boys love this game. My 6 year old, especially, but also my 8 year old who isn't the most coordinated kid in the world. I've read reviews that say the game doesn't work well. It does if you have something taped to the back of the bed board so that it touches the motor. Ours came with a foam rectangle piece taped to the back of the bed - if your bed does not have this, just cut a out a foam shape, match it to where the motor is, and tape. Once the motor can reach this additional piece, the bugs will pop around so hard they're flying out of the bed. Because of this, I put the bed on a twice-folded towel so the bugs don't go rolling off the table. I'm sure these fixes sound annoying, but once the game is up and running, it's actually pretty cute.

I bought this to help with fine motor for my sons. However they find it very boring. I think it would hold the interest of a younger child (under 3) but do they have the fine motor skills to pick up bouncing bugs with tweezers? We played it once. I've asked the boys (age 5&6) if they want to play it again & they always say no. Maybe if the bugs moved better they would like it. They just kind of slide- not bounce. It's going to Goodwill.

Now you are probably asking how could this toy have educational value? Well, if you play it according to the rules each player calls a color to collect, only after all of the bugs for the previous color have been collected. After all of the bugs have been collected then the kids get to count up their bugs. My daughter is 6 and she loves this game! It's been great to help her with her adding skills and learning how to follow multiple instructions at one time. The best part is it's fun!

The top of the bed doesn't really touch down on the vibrator so that the bugs just move lethargically to the side and are easily picked up. If I hold the plasitc bed top down, they pop around like they're probably supposed to. The biggest waste of money I've spent lately. I would return it if I could.

I remember this game from when I was a kid and was so excited to have my 4 year old play this game too. It lasted not even one full game before it stopped working. Very cheaply made. I would not recommend this to anybody.

This game is simple and fun! Once you open the box, you are playing within 2 minutes, considering that you have C batteries on hand!! This game is simple and exciting for young children, but offers enough of a challenge for older children (and adults) to still have a great time! The only issue I have found with the game is that sometimes the bed doesn't vibrate consistently. However, it was a quick fix by removing the "blanket" on the bed, rolling it up for a second (not down the bed, but lenght-wise, and rolling it so that the picture was hidden), and then replacing it. This made the plastic connect with the vibrator and it was fine! I would recommend this product for anyone with younger children (4-8) who sometimes feel left out because they aren't able to play the "big kid" games!

Great game to play with young children. They love to see the little plastic bugs jumping around in the bed. It is simple to play, just grab the bugs that are your color or you can just see who can grab the most bugs. Kids get excited to catch the bugs as they jump. It does take some hand and eye coordination, which is great for young children to practice. This is one of the go to games that are the kids favorite.
