Update: I just sat down to initiate a review and found out that they aren't returnable! So, there goes almost $20 down the drain, literally. One more reason to dissuade someone from buying them!
I needed these quickly and didn't even think to check the reviews, which I now feel really silly about. I don't know what they are using as filler but it seems about as stiff as cardboard. That makes them not only not comfortable, which my four-year old immediately balked about, but also not form well to the eye area. As the purpose of the patches is to keep the eye from having light and input these are completely ineffective. Thankfully for my daughter her issues are isolated to her extropia but that means that we don't have glasses to which we can attach a patch. So, even though the adhesive patches are fairly exorbitantly priced, we'll be going back to those. If spending nearly a dollar a day is able to help my daughter either avoid surgery altogether or even just make it more efficacious, it will be well worth the cost.
My drug store and doctor could not get me eye patches that fit. The adult sizes were too large to cover my eye properly. A clerk at the drug store told me to go to Amazon to order patches. I did and am very satisfied with them. I can color coordinate most of my outfits using these patches. They were delivered on time, when they said they would. Very satisfied.
Product doesn't describe specific size. It was purchased for 6 year old girl and it was too tight. It doesn't specify which eye and 6 to a pack becomes redundant. Beware, this product cannot be returned once the package is opened. If you need and eye patch look elsewhere and make sure of the size.
I decided to go with the elastic band patches, because my daughter hates bandaids and I can't imagine yanking a band-aid type patch off her face every single day. These are cute. She can color coordinate with her outfit and she can put them on and take them off by herself. The quality is good. It's not something that will last forever, but it's not meant to. This is a 6 week deal to strengthen her weaker eye.
They don't fit perfectly, of course. The band slides down and she has to adjust it from time to time, but that's just the nature of an elastic band. It's so much better that the adheisive type.
