BRIAN BIRO, AMERICA'S BREAKTHROUGH COACH, AUTHOR OF BEYOND SUCCESS AND THERE ARE NO OVER-ACHIEVERS "Jim Brault has disclosed, like never before, a look at the extraordinary teacher Francis Fong. About the Author

Jim Brault has always been fascinated by human potential, and has spent over 30 years uncovering ways to help others become their best. In addition to getting a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Binghamton University and a Master's Degree from Cornell University, this desire to help others realize their potential has led him to study with some of the most gifted teachers of our time: he owned and operated one of the most successful franchises of peak performance coach Anthony Robbins. He also studied with and became a certified meditation and Kundalini Yoga instructor under Gurucharan Singh Khalsa, and completed the Unbeatable Mind program and trained in Sealfit with U.S. Navy Seals Commander (retired) Mark Divine. Jim began studying martial arts in order to harness the power of the Mind, Body and Spirit these disciplines developed. He initially trained in Tae Kwon Do under then US Olympic Coach Master Sang Chul Lee from 1983 until 1986, earned his first degree black belt under Master Nam Yell Ahn in 1987 and his second degree black belt under Master Sam J. Kim in 1989. In 1991 Jim met Sifu Francis Fong, a man who would change his perspective on human potential more than anyone he had ever met. Since then, he has studied Wing Chun Kung Fu under Sifu Francis Fong. He earned his black sash from Sifu Fong and is currently a Senior Instructor and an Affiliate of the Francis Fong Instructor Association (FFIA). Jim also currently trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Jeet Kune Do / Jun Fan Kung Fu, Kickboxing, Kali and Systema. Jim has helped thousands of people in both the personal and professional realms through his dynamic and impactful Anthony Robbins Unlimited Power and Power to Influence seminars, in C-Level roles for Fortune 500 and other publicly traded companies, through private coaching, via Group and Private instruction in the Martial Arts, through workshops and seminars, and through his books The Winning Mindset and Lessons from the Masters: Seven Keys to Peak Performance and Inner Peace, and now A Path of Mastery: Lessons on Wing Chun and Life from Sifu Francis Fong. "I wrote A Path of Mastery so that more people could get exposed to these simple yet profound ideas for bettering their lives and realizing their unique gifts. A Path of Mastery will certainly appeal to martial artists, but it really applies to everyone. As Sifu Fong says, "You may never get into a fight, but you are always fighting yourself. The real enemy is you." Even though we may be on different paths, I believe we are all ultimately seeking the same thing. My sincere wish is that A Path of Mastery helps you to have a more fulfilling and joyful life."

First, you do not need to be a Wing Chun practitioner to benefit from reading and studying this book. The author uses the martial arts as taught by Francis Fong as a springboard to delve into the development of the mind, body, and spirit. In this age of the UFC and mixed martial arts, we sometimes lose sight of the mind and spirit elements of the martial arts and tend to focus mainly on physical component. This book reveals Francis Fong's lessons on the importance of a strong mind and spirit in becoming a better martial artist and human being. The book is broken down into two sections. The first section describes the lessons the author learned from training with Francis Fong. The second part of the book offers advice on how to apply these lessons to your life. There are indeed many paths to mastery. This book provides a very enlightening one based on the lessons of a world-renown martial arts instructor.

Jim Brault has beautifully presented the story of his relationship and experiences with, and the teachings of, one of the great Wing Chun teachers of our time, Sifu Francis Fong. If you are interested in Wing Chun Gung Fu, and the beautiful philosophy of a man whose real life experience straddles both east and west, this book should be on your shelf. Sifu Fong has much to offer, and his story is not only inspiring, but so very genuine, and beautifully told by Mr. Brault.

I've been considering training at sifu fongs school and in my research I discovered this book and ordered it as soon as it came out on Amazon. I am only half way through and already I have a great respect for him. This book isn't just about martial arts (while it is written about the arts) it is about life. Great book for anyone interested in learning a new way to think and grow.

The book is inspiring. It didn’t tell you too much on techniques, but it told you the way what wing chunner should be when learning and practising wing chun. Highly recommended.

One of the best books I've read on the topic of correct mindset for the martial artist, who actually wants to apply the same principles to his daily exchanges. Most of us will never have to fight for our life, but encounter 'small battles' each day.

This is not just a book on a martial art or a martial artist, but is also a book on how to practice any art, but most especially the Art of living a good life.

Probably one of the most useful books I will ever own, and I have a lot!
I love Wing Chun and I am fortunate enough to also teach it.
There were many insights that I was consciously aware of, and I enjoyed the clarity of the different explanations and analogies.
There were also many insights that I was unconsciously aware of, and thanks to the Lessons section of the book, able to articulate for myself and apply to my training and my life.
A big thank you to the Author Jim Brault and to his Sifu, Sifu Francis Fong for exemplifying everything that is good about Martial Arts.
