My next step was to make time for mindful walking, and that's when I re-discovered the joy of being outdoors without the need to speed through my walk for the sake of exercising. Janet Nestor has a way of making you fall in love with being in the moment and being outdoors all over again. You may remember times as a child when you could not wait to head outside so you could run, skip, jump, stroll, and explore. She reawakened in me that spirit of fun and exploration, the senses taking in the feel of the air and the ground you are walking on, the birds singing, the squirrels rustling through the dry leaves.
I will keep this book on my bedside table to reread often because it offers a way to relax as well as balance and ground yourself. It is filled with love, joy, and wisdom as a guide to those of us who sometimes need to be guided back to peace and calm in our daily lives.
