Patricia Neal (vintage 1953-a very good year) was born in Gadsden, AL, to earnest, loving parents, Ed and Ruth Battles, who raised her and 4 siblings to be curious about life and to have faith in Love as a transforming force. This influence has informed Patricia's work throughout her life, especially in the work of Center for Purposeful Leadership. CPL's foundation was created on the concepts of convening as an integral, important part of a civil society and an individual's spirit. Convening brings people together in authentic engagement, offering the opportunity for each person to be heard and seen as an important part of the whole. Little did we know when we founded Heartland, now CPL, in 1995 that convening would become common language for those who call and hold meetings or gatherings.
