This works on a PC after Windows downloads and installs a driver, but it does not work on a Patriot PBO box (not recognized at all when plugged in), which was the reason I bought it and should work per the advertisement. I suspect they changed chipset but did not bother to update the info.

The PBO is not to blame as I have a 11G adapter that works fine.

I bought this device (not at Amazon mind you) to see if my wife's wifi adapter was causing problems. When I built my new computer, I figured I would use it instead of the old D-link adapter that was too large to fit behind the tower case and the wall. I have had all sorts of problems. I can't make VOIP calls (Google Hangouts for example) and my top download speed was 7 Mbps. Sometimes, web pages don't ever download or don't complete. It will be bad for a while and then it will start working again. I am only 20 feet from my high quality Wifi Router.

I have a 50 Mbps line and my iPad has no problem filling that pipe. I went back to my old d-Link two inch long adapter, and now I can do 25 Mbps (as measured using Comcast SpeedTest).

It works well enough (Windows 8.1 found it just fine.) if you don't need to download a file. I do too much and I spent too much on this computer to tolerate that. I will be throwing it away. It was less than $20 bucks, so who cares.

I plugged this little USB wireless adapter into the front of my tower, took out the old PCI adapter that was causing me grief, and it’s been working out pretty well. It would have been cool if the Windows drivers were contained on the device itself rather than on the little CD that was hidden inside the packaging… but whatever, at least it’s bundled with the device.

And it works with Xubuntu. I didn’t even have to install any Linux drivers, it just picked up on the device itself after a quick moment.

The only downside is sometimes the connection does get a bit slow when downloading in Windows (haven't really tried with Xubuntu), but after manually disconnecting and reconnecting to the wireless network, it picks right back up.

Considering the price, the performance, the size, and the fact that it’s a USB adapter, I like it very much and am happy with the purchase.

Product is simple enough to get working. Connected to my network in a few minutes. However, my download/upload speeds are ridiculously slow, in the range of 30-40 kbps. I might as well not even have it because it is so frustrating. On top of that the pc is sitting ~45 feet from my router with direct sight, no obstructions.

I won't tell you not to buy it, but my experience is unsatisfactory and I feel like I just wasted $11.

I presented it to my dad to use it as a wireless addition to his desktop.

It works well. He likes it.
