Transferred a 10.90GB file to this drive in 2min39secs.
It does run hot during use both writing and reading. The case is apparently being used to dissipate heat, so you won't see this thing encased in rubber like the XT.
Unless there is some technology to reduce the heat generated at these speeds, I don't foresee faster times.
It is a regular sized stick about 1/8" longer than the XT and about 1/16" thinner. There is no retainer for the cap when in use.

Here are the rest of the stats:
1) WD 1TB Black Caviar HDD 6GB/s
2) Crucial 128GB SSD 6GB/s

File Size.....WriteFrom 1.....ReadTo 1.....WriteFrom 2.....ReadTo 2
1.09GB.........58.8MB/s.......124MB/s........69.8MB/s.......124MB/s
10.90GB........70.4MB/s.......119MB/s........71.3MB/s.......119MB/s
174MB..........43.6MB/s.......120MB/s........58.0MB/s.......120MB/s

I also have a Patriot XT 16GB USB 2.0 which reads at 20MB/s and writes at 11MB/s but was looking for larger capacity and faster transfer times.
There are other USB 3.0 flash drives out there but none as fast.

I am very impressed with this drive and suspect that it will gain popularity real soon as Patriot has already started to cut the price.

Amazingly fast but there are a few problems. I have used it to transfer data, movies, music and more. It will load and/or down load 24 GB in less than 8 Minutes. (with a USB 3,0 port) However it seems to get warm and when you try to use it the next time it will lock up on you (WRITE Protected) I got in touch with Patriot and the sent me a software tool to restore it however now every second time it will lock up and I must restore it. waaiting to see what they will do about it since the fix is so temporary. it is sat morning on mlk weekend i will not know untill tuesday what they will do. five year waranty is great but not if this can not be fixed I think i could put a heat sink on it and help it but i do not think it should get that warm i will follow up with this but it soes read and write over 100 MB/s and you can copy what is on the drive when it locks up (that is what I call it) just cannot add to or remove untill restored with their tool

This drive lives up to the promise of its speed. It is wicked-fast, even under USB 2.0 mode. And the 64GB size is impressive. But the drive, after its been copying for a while, gets extremely hot, as in difficult to touch-hot. I believe that's due to the aluminum casing acting as a heat dispersal element. Still though, its a little unnerving how hot it can get.

Ordered from Amazon with rebate, good deal.

PROS:

-Brushed aluminum body.
-Cap that stays on well.
-Physical size is small considering capacity and speed.
-USB 3.0 speed, confirmed as advertised using NEC F1 chipset on rear-port of Gigabyte X58-UD3R MB.

CONS:

-Does not come with key ring.
-Gets pretty hot under use, but hopefully won't harm itself.

First and foremost... it works. It does what it's supposed to, when it's supposed to. Second, it's fast, real fast. You will have no complaints about performance with this one. It's not flashy looking. It's just a black USB drive. It has a cap that you could possibly misplace instead of a slide out option, but I refused to take a star away for aesthetic reasons. As I said it works great and I really don't anticipate entering my USB drive into a beauty pageant.

I took all my friends memories and made a comparison in speed using what I have USB 2.0, I don't care about USB 3.0 because I use Win XP and my motherboard do not support USB 3.0
Writing with my Asus P5Q motherboard is as follows:
Corsair Flash Survivor usb 3.0 32gb = 22mb/sec
Patriot Xporter XT Rage usb 2.0 16gb = 16 mb/sec
Patriot Supersonic boost xt usb 3.0 32gb = 16mb/sec
OCZ Rally 2 usb 2.0 8gb = 6.36mb/sec
Patriot Supersonic usb 3.0 32gb = 26mb/sec

I've had this drive for about two days now. If things change I'll come back and edit my review. So far though, I'm very impressed. My main computer is a 2012 MacBook Air running OSX 10.8.2. This drive absolutely flies. When hooked up to a USB 2.0 hub the drive achieved just shy of 30MB/s read and write. The drive is basically capable of maxing out a usb 2.0 connection. It's quicker than any other USB 2.0 drive that I own. After testing the drive in that scenario, I decided to directly connect the drive to the laptop. That allowed it to operate at USB 3.0 speeds. I ran several speed tests with the drive formatted to exfat and fat32, and I was absolutely blown away. Write speeds averaged around 80MB/s. Read speeds hovered around 140MB/s for both filesystems. Both of those speeds exceeded what the drive is advertised to do.

As far as build quality goes. This drive is top notch. Its made of aluminum, making it very durable. On top of that, it's very narrow in width. For those people that own a MacBook, you know apple just loves to cram their USB ports really close together. With this drive it's narrow enough to where it doesn't block any of the ports around it. The drive has a cap, instead of a sliding mechanism, that clicks solidly to the flash drive. I don't for see any problems with the cap coming off prematurely at this point, but I'll update the review if that changes.

Lastly, I'd like to point out that this drive DOES in fact have a red LED notification light. It's not the brightest, and it's hard to see, but it is there. The light is located inside of the keyring hole. So if you have this drive attached to a keychain, you may not ever see the light due to it being easy to block. I would say that is probably the only negative thing about this drive, but that is a minor issue in my opinion.
