I am older and have always had fine hair. I've tried a lot of "body" shampoos over the years including many salon formulas (money was really not an issue - I just wanted to find the best shampoo to give me as much body as possible). These were salon formulas like Graham Webb, Paul Mitchell, Pureology and Redken. I happened upon this one by accident and was thrilled with the body it gave my hair. No other shampoo I have tried even comes close. I have no way of knowing if you'll like it or not, but the smaller bottle is about $10 and I think it's worth it to try it out. Note, I do NOT recommend the accompanying conditioner - for a fine hair body conditioner I recommend "Volumizing Conditioner from Kenra".

Have only been using for about a week. But so far, so good. I'm trying this as a alternative to Progaine which I used for years and loved - but can no longer afford at $50+ per bottle.... This is the only Extra Body shampoo I could find by the way. Apparently, there aren't enough of us Fine Hair People (who don't like to use conditioner) out there to support a market niche. I alternate with the two-step Nioxin 4 Cleanser and Scalp Therapy Treatments.

I paid nearly eight dollars for shipping but it quickly arrived in great condition. I like this size so I can refill my smaller bottles. I used to think that pricey shampoos weren't worth it, but trying to switch back to cheap grocery brands caused my scalp to be irritated and itchy. Switching to Paul Mitchell relieved the symptoms in two days.

This is a girl's every day shampoo that's safe for all types of hair, but especially thinner hair like mine. It lasts a long time & leaves the hair feeling soft & manageable when combined with a conditioner.

I have ordered several bottles of this shampoo. It will last me about 3 months or so as it doesn't take but a little to wash my hair. I have extremely fine hair and this is the best shampoo I have found for my particular type of hair. I really don't believe it has a lot of smell as some reviewers were complementing the great smell nor does it lather big, although I am not complaining. I still like it and will continue to use as it does provide extra body for those with fine, limp hair.

I think the recipe for this shampoo has changed in the last year or so. I used this shampoo and its matching conditioner for well over a year and loved it. Soft and shiny with extra volume. Then late last year I stopped ignoring the signs and realized I had huge buildup. I thought maybe I got a bad bottle (though I purchased at an authorized beauty store) and so I returned them and got new bottles. Same thing. And same thing from another set of bottles I purchased at another store. Again, the product was not old, expired, or tampered with. It only takes ONE wash with this shampoo to immediately have a buildup. I've never had build up this bad before. Clarifying shampoo clears it up, but one wash with this shampoo, and it's like I've coated my hair in product and not washed it in days. Not something I should have to worry about with any expensive non-grocery store product. I wish I could have the product like it was before. Definitely do not recommend it how it works now.

Smells wonderful, very nice product, and I feel great knowing that Paul Mitchell has high ethical standards. But. honestly, I don't know if it does anything spectacularly different for my hair than, say, a much-cheaper Panteen Pro-V.
