I bought this pan because of the copper bottom, Paula Deen association, and affordable price.
All in all its a good pan, with good looks and seems durable. However because the handle is so curved, it puts a lot of strain on my wrist when pouring or filling. Torque from the weight of the filled pan overcomes my writs, and it would be easier to balance if the handle were straight. The second problem with this pan, is that it doesn't heat up as fast as I would expect for a copper bottom. My OLD RevereWare stainless steel sauce pan boils water faster than this one! I would not buy this Paula Deen one again. In addition, the interior is brushed stainless steel, but it looks like a rough brush, and seems darker than most other stainless steels.

No complaints about this pot's performance on the stove-top. However, the soft-touch handle, though cozy in the hand at first, has become tacky feeling, and no amount of scrubbing with detergent, Barkeeper's Friend, or Simple Green has made it feel good again. If I could have this pot with a different handle, I'd give it five stars, but as it is, I find myself reluctant to use it because the handle never really feels clean.

This saucepan is a beauty, out of the box, with that mirror finish, bright copper bottom, and a beautiful, see-through top with a copper-trimmed knob-handle. Understand that the copper bottom of the sauce pan gets dark and ugly FAST, despite doing the pre-soak in baking soda & water as the instructions state, but the bottom getting dark, stained, and unattractive--although here, this is a bit visible from the side, too--is pretty normal, right?

Other than that, this cooks really well, and fast! I'm not sure it's due to the copper bottom, it might be due to a thinner material than the stainless saucepan I used to use.

My one concern is the rubber-coated handle-- how will this stand up to years of washing or just getting wet in the sink??? It's RUBBER! Also feels weird when wet, but then like normal rubber when dry.

If I want to be picky, I'd say the inside is not as smoothly-finished as my previous cookware, and scraping the noodles or meat of soup from the sides of this with a plastic spoon make a noise, because it's rough inside; not like the high-polished inside of my previous pan (another brand).

To the reviewer here who said this pan strained his wrist, I can see that, it's a BIT like that for me, too. In that case, get the Paula Deen sister to this model from Wal-Mart, also with a copper bottom (but not showing on the side or profile view). That pan is just a bit lower profile, and the handle is attached a bit lower, so it doesn't have this weighting or leverage problem (that would bother one's wrist), at all. And it's cheaper, it's about $23.00. It doesn't have the ring on the handle with which to hang it on a hook, however.

Overall, I do very much like this sauce pan, and have two of them.

It wasn't until I opened this beautiful pan which deserves all of the positive reviews and read the instructions that I realized that it was not suitable for my glass cooktop. I am returning it with regret.

This set of pots have copper bottoms.
The handles do not conduct heat.
The lids are clear so one can see what is cooking.
They clean up well.
