I just received this and spent the last hour or so putting it together. My first attempt to stabilize it didn't work and it started to fall over when one of the cats went to investigate it. I was able to lean the whole thing over, shelves and all, to get at the top adjustable pieces. Once I fixed those (and paid attention to the instructions), I put it back up and, this time, it's solidly in place. In one of the photos, my oldest cat is sitting on one of the shelves. He's about 16 or 17#; the tree didn't move when he climbed up there.The look of this is amazing. Sleek, small, awesome! It's replacing an old cat tree (Go Pet Club Cat Tree, 50W x 26L x 72H, Beige) that took up an entire corner of the living room. Now, there's space for an armchair in that corner and I can finally see the built-in shelves. I put the hammock at the bottom because I have a couple of bush-dwellers. Plus, this is a ladder to the cats' favorite shelf: one over my TV with two beds on it.This is a nice piece of cat furniture. By comparison, I've had this in that same corner: Cat Craft 124003 3-Tier Cat Climbing Tree. That was a terrible cat tree. The coverings pulled and ripped off within just a couple of months and it was unstable.

This is the only bed my stray uses (the hammock). He loves being up high, (so those expensive felt caves didnt work for him. Sigh). I know these are expensive but I got them both at excellent prices. Like $50 less than it sometimes lists, so keep it on your watch list if youre interested. I know it seems exp but it is Very sturdy and my guy goes swing up to the top like a monkey! And I bought two which are side by side infront of his favorite window at the moment. Will be moving into apartment soon so needed something with next to no real estate. Also this stray had been climbing up over fridge on top of cabinets and kept looking like he wanted to dive to table or floor. Figured this was much less exp then a vet bill for a broken leg! And of course want him safe. Since I bought these two he hasnt been the least interested in mountain climbing. (Still counter surfs though...grr) I like how they can be put against a wall or window and look so nice. I have to point out its for my monkey (not plants) lol. Its built so well, will last good long time. He comes to check in on me middle of night, but if I cant find him its because he's up in one of the hammocks. I wish I could make a video for you as he scrambles up between the two. Looks like those kids who do the (plastic?) rock climbing at some gyms. He's always figuring out which new way to get to the top. I do have the carpet 4 round bed trees but he only uses when he's snooping for the temptations snacks I hide for him there. He never sleeps curled up, so this tree will be donated. And the wool cave too. But Im thinking of trying a lambswool rug to spread out across his fav chair. Because the hammocks are on the small side and he likes to stretch way out belly up. Cant do that in these hammocks. I read other reviewers wish hammocks could be purchased separately, especially if you have 2 cats. And I agree because it would be difficult to make one or repair one on your own. But my monkey is a very happy stray now. Makes me wonder if he used to sleep up high in a tree for safety before he decided on me. I'll send a pic for you, but it was before my 2nd came. Room isnt done up pretty yet. I dont know how to send a funny scrambling video.
A long story Im sorry. Hope it might help someone decide the expense is worth it because it is. And did I mention...it really looks like shelves or almost hidden if against a wall. Gorgeous! (Forgive me. I love talking about him.) I lost my yorkie, and was in deepest, darkest despair when this fellow sauntered into my life. (My 1st cat) ❤
