Product Description

This deluxe chicken coop gives your chickens the ability to move seamlessly from a comfortable enclosure to an outdoor protected space. The indoor facility includes multiple roosting poles and a large nesting box that is able to hold multiple chickens. A small entrance with a travel ramp allows your chickens to run in and out easily, without being wide enough to let the elements in when the weather is bad. This attaches to a wide open fenced enclosure that allows them plenty of room to move around. The roof is split into multiple segments so the roof may be peaked, closed or completely opened up. This is a perfect unit for someone who has a few chickens, but still needs to minimize the space that the coop will be using. FEATURES: - Living / nesting quarters with attached outdoor run for maximum space, - Easy access ramp for pets to enter sleeping area, - Durable mesh to keep pets in and other animals out, - Multiple doors for easy access to animals, - Durable treated wood finish, - Assembly required, all necessary parts included. SPECIFICATIONS: - Overall size: 57"W x 87"L x 32"H, - Living Area: 42"L x 25"W x 32"H, - Egg box size: 15"L x 20"W x21"H, - Run Area size: 59"L x 40"W x 29"H, - Wood thickness: 10 mm, - Net Weight: 92.4 lbs. NOTE: Buyer to determine the amount of pets that will fit in the coop.

I am new at this backyard chicken game, but decided to take the leap and ordered this chicken coop. It came very quickly and was relatively easy to assemble. There are a few modifications I made to it which have transformed it from great to perfect. Rather than screwing down the roof, I added three hinges to it so that I can just lift the roof up for easy cleaning. I added a solar vent to circulate the air inside, a door handle to make opening the door easier, and a matching handle for the run top to make it easier to lift when I want to change the food and water. The devil is in the details. I have since purchased four very adorable pullets who call it home. These girls are not livestock to me but more like four new family members.

Good coop for adult chickens. However, in South Florida, there are rats, snakes, racoons, possums and cats - all of which can fit through the gap between the nesting section and the main house. The underside sliding tray is also a site for animal invasion. I've lost baby chicks to a possum before, so I used steel hardware cloth across the bottom to make the coop predator proof. Also used crack fill in the nesting area, to close a 2 inch gap. To make up for lost ventilation, I installed a small solar fan. As others have said - instructions are a nightmare. If you can get past the initial step of making the nest box correctly, (hint - mark the top of parts B, C, then make sure the flipper arm on part C is upright, on the right side, with the screw for that arm oriented towards the front side of the box), you get tripped up on the Step 2, which says to screw part M to D. Turns out, this was a step where provided bolts were necessary; not screws. Some of the wood joints were split on receiving - I recut these pieces, and replaced them as a precaution. You'll also want to predrill all screwholes, since the wood is very dry, and very thin. Stain or linseed the final product for the elements. And finally, all the screws are way too long - I replaced them with more appropriate sizes, since at least an inch of sharp screw was protruding on every joint that is made. Flimsy hardware, including an extremely shoddy latch were not even used - replaced with better hardware. Great idea, poor execution. 1-18-13 I'm updating this review, 4 days later after a good rain- waterproof cabin, so far. Actually used the Amazon illustration to figure out how to put the fence area together, since included instructions are so poor.Read more ›

This product is TINY. The measurements are not even close. I requested a refund from the seller where mine came from, via Amazon, and I was told that "measurements mean different things to different people". It might hold 2-3 chickens, but not for long. The wood is soft and of poor quality. Several of the pegs which join the corners together were broken. The small run area, side panels did not have enough screen to fit, therefore, there were gaps. Many of the staples holding the screen were bent.

Very good starter coop for the price, with some modifications, of the roof in which I put 2 hinges and a left and right lid roof support, lock latch to secure, egg box also put 2 hinges and 1 left arm support with a lock latch to secure lid. Finally inside added an extra roosting bar 1" x 1/2" wood used, to make a livng area inside frame and attached chicken wire, so that the chickens are not walking in there poop. I have 3 Black australorp and 4 black copper morans living comfortably in this starter coop. I also weather proof, stained and put clear gloss varnish to help preserve the light weight wood.

Update : 10/10/15
Since my initial purchase of this coop, I have made a nesting hutch with 3 boxes, this coop is very easy to add to the coop. Keep in mind that no matter what stain and gloss in other words weatherproof, weatherproof if you want your coop to last, as far as Im concearned this is an awesome starter coop.

We ordered this coop for our pet duck and chick, both of which had just gotten old enough to move outside. The house and pen went together easily. Our pets love their new house. Especially nice is the way the "roof" of the pen opens making it very easy to feed and water the animals.

I actually would buy this again....if I hadn't already gotten other size coops.
I raise silkies, and am using this for 5 silkies....
Silkies usually pile on top of each other to sleep and keep warm so the coop
area is a perfect size....I use one of the nesting boxes for a gallon waterer...
This group of silkies seem very happy with the set up, and go back and forth from
the coop to the outdoor area... but I wouldn't add another chicken....nor allow
chicks in this small of an area with the adult 5 silkies.
You will want to move it.....it has no wheels...but it can be moved if using
3 people...or if you undo the cage part from the coop...to give them a different
grazing area... It's perfect for city living.... but if your out in the country
and have coyotes, raccoons, or flying preditors... your going to have to secure
the coop. Locks or latches on roof, and nesting box area...the cage area is not
strong enough to hold children or animals... The mesh cloth or whatever it's called
is only stapled to the wood... The WOOD in the run area, (outdoors area)
is not very thick, which will cause the mesh to come out from under the staples if you put
to heavy of items on it, and
the wood itself, if mishandled will probably break easily...
But the fold up part on top of outdoor run, is great for getting to the chickens or
to feed and water...
This coop is wood, and it expands in wet rainy weather...so pay attention to the
door on the coop, (that is used as a small ramp, for chickens to enter coop),
any shavings will get caught in the area that your closing, and the wood swells making
it difficult to close door and latch it...
