Editorial Reviews

The talented John and TJ Osborne of Brothers Osborne announced they are releasing their highly-anticipated debut album, Pawn Shop, January 15 on EMI Nashville. Pawn Shop includes the CMA Vocal Duo of the Year nominees current Top 5 single "Stay A Little Longer" and the pair's playful summer sing-along, "Rum."

"Stay A Little Longer" is drawing critical acclaim with Billboard commending John's masterful shredding of his guitar and brother TJ's melting vocals. Industry critic Bob Lefsetz calls TJ's vocals "outstanding", and regarding the infectious track he admits, "I've got to hear it again and again and AGAIN!"

"It's challenging to have an entire life's work summed up in 11 songs so we really focused on having every track on this album held together by what John and I do," states TJ. "We want it to be different scenes on each track but to keep each one honest and from our perspective."

"Our upbringing certainly influenced the theme of this record," notes John. "It's who you re with and who you are that makes you happy. For us, as long as you re able to enjoy yourself with family and friends you re really living the good life."

Brothers Osborne's rural blue-collar upbringing infiltrates the music they make as a twang-and-crunch duo that blends equal parts country and rock into one of the freshest, most identifiable sounds to come out of Nashville in recent years.

"Their music, while country, has a certain air that gives it a more modern feel," notes the Providence Journal while Rolling Stone states that "Brothers Osborne are at the crest of the wave, ready to sweep across an audience that s grown thirsty for something new." Former tourmate Eric Church adds, "My favorite thing about Brothers Osborne is that they don t sound like anyone else. They are singularly distinctive."

John and TJ co-wrote all 11 tracks on Pawn Shop and partnered with producer Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town, Zac Brown Band) on the project Nashville Lifestyles highlights as one of the most anticipated upcoming releases.

Brothers Osborne have previously toured with artists including Darius Rucker, Little Big Town and Kacey Musgraves, and currently, fans can catch the Maryland natives on the road with Jon Pardi as part of the All Time High tour.

This is the album that country music has been waiting for... for a loooong time. You can definitely hear some influences from Willie and some of the other original country stars, but the album is completely their own.

So many albums, especially in country, have 1 or 2 good songs and the rest are hard to listen to. But just about all the songs in Pawn Shop can be top ten hits.

One of the things I like most about this album is how it doesn't follow contemporary country song algorithms... so much country music released today seems like the artists/producers "forced" the songs together... and it makes for some painful moments in listening. Forcing words to rhyme... or not even trying to rhyme. Talking through a song instead of singing. Putting all the energy of the song into the hook and leaving the rest to fill time. The Brothers Osborne don't do any of that. True artists. Every song is pleasing to listen to.... all the way through.

AMAZING tunes from a GREAT GROUP of musicians and songwriters!. Not a bad cut on this album. Perfection! Every song a Top 10 hit (a couple could even be a crossover hit on adult contemporary)! Buy! BUY! BUY! 'Pawn Shop' was one of the top anticipated albums for 2016. Let me tell you it does not disappoint! It was well worth the wait and the money. LOVE IT! Will add more when vinyl is received!

Well, this evening when I got home from a long day in the legal world, the Vinyl arrived. It is absolutely a classic, vintage sound filled with originality, inspiration, dreams, love, smoke, and whiskey. Between John's magical guitar riffs and TJ's sultry baritone voice, the mix brings back country, southern rock, and the blues with a twist. This group knows how to tell a story through music. True talent! Each track is positioned beautifully and flows from one to the other to tell a bigger story when you listen to 'Pawn Shop' in its entirety. BEST music purchase in a very long time. Enjoy! Cheers from the LOU!

I'm a huge fan of the Brothers Osborne's original EP and I'm so, so happy I purchased this album. If you love the style in their EP, you will not be disappointed. Although it has a couple repeat tracks from the EP, I encourage you to go ahead and purchase the album anyway because the value is just awesome. My favorite tracks are "Dirt Rich", "Pawn Shop", and "Stay a Little Longer". Enjoy!

The Brothers Osborne (formerly the Osborne Brothers) take their place alongside Bela Fleck, David Grisman, and their friends as they take bluegrass into the 21st century. Actually this album sounds more like progressive country, or even alternative rock, than it does bluegrass. Genres aside, I loved the album!

Pawn Shop is amazing. The music and lyrics will stick with you. I carry the CD between home and my car. Refreshing to hear something beyond traditional country music played on radio stations. Brothers Osborne put a great deal of thought into producing this CD. Anxiously Waiting their next venture.

I got this as a gift for my friend's birthday! We saw Brothers Osborne open for Eric Church a while back and bought their EP right away. When they released this cd right before her bday I had to get it. The cd is fantastic! Their style is so refreshing!

I've been waiting for so long for this album! Rum and Stay a Little Longer have been favs for almost a year. I can honestly say I love this whole Album! Good mix of classic country meets current country with some bluegrass twang thrown in here and there.
