About the authors
Hal Bodner is a Bram Stoker Award nominated author, best known for writing the best selling gay vampire novel, Bite Club and the lupine sequel, The Trouble With Hairy. He tells people that he was born in East Philadelphia because no one knows where Cherry Hill, New Jersey is. The obstetrician who delivered him was C. Everett Koop, the future US Surgeon General who put warnings on cigarette packs. Thus, from birth, Hal was destined to become a heavy smoker.
He moved to West Hollywood in the 1980s and has rarely left the city limits since. He cannot even find his way around Beverly Hills—which is the next town over.
Hal has been an entertainment lawyer, a scheduler for a 976 sex telephone line, a theater reviewer and the personal assistant to a television star. For awhile, he owned Heavy Petting, a pet boutique where all the movie stars shopped for their Pomeranians. Until recently, he owned an exotic bird shop.
He has never been a waiter.
He lives with assorted dogs, and birds, the most notable of which is an eighty year old irritable, flesh-eating military macaw named after his icon – Tallulah. He often quips he is a slave to fur and feathers and regrets only that he isn’t referring to mink and marabou. He does not have cats because he tends to sneeze on them.
Having reached middle-age ("middle" age being dependent on how many 100 years-plus people happen to be around), he remembers Nixon.
He was widowed in his early forties and can sometimes be found sunbathing at his late partner's grave while trying to avoid cemetery caretakers screaming at him to put his shirt back on.
Hal has also written a few erotic paranormal romances -- which he refers to as “supernatural smut” – most notably In Flesh and Stone and For Love of the Dead. While his salacious imagination is unbounded, he much prefers his comedic roots and he is currently pecking away at a series of bitterly humorous gay super hero novels.
He married again -- this time legally -- to a wonderful man who is young enough not to know that Liza Minnelli is Judy Garland’s daughter. As a result, Hal has recently discovered that the use of hair dye is rarely an adequate substitute for Viagra.
Hal's website is www.wehovampire.com and he encourages fans to send him email at Hal@wehovampire.com. It may take him a month or so, but he generally responds to almost everyone who writes to him with the sole exception of prisoners who request free copies of his books accompanied by naked pictures.
Jenner Michaud is a speculative fiction writer with a leaning towards the dark recesses found at the edge of reality. She finds pleasure in weaving stories that push the boundaries of the possible, even if they go bump in the night and keep her up.
An all-around Canadian, Jenner was born in Vancouver, British Columbia and currently resides in Ottawa, Ontario. She spent part of her childhood in a Quebec town bordering Labrador, requiring frequent passage between time zones. Losing and gaining time in 90-minute bursts multiple times a day has helped make her an authority on time travel.

Herika R. Raymer is a Bookwright who wants to do each story right! She grew up consuming books - first eating them and later reading them. Reading was better, but writing was fun! A writer of mixed genre - science-fiction, thriller, horror, fantasy (dark and/or rural), and even some humor (yes it can be dark) - her style leans towards thriller/horror. No gore, she explores either monster-based or psychological horror. No explicit sex, she claims such scenes make her blush. Still, her characters are passionate and engaging enough to win short story competitions/awards. Intrigued? Read a story and/or visit online!

Melodie Romeo is a native of Vicksburg, Mississippi. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master’s degree in History from the University of West Florida. Ms Romeo is a retired school teacher who currently travels the country as an over the road truck driver with Prime, Inc. Her first book, Vlad a Novel, (https://www.facebook.com/VladANovel) an historical thriller, was published in 2002. She has short stories published in anthologies by Seventh Star Press, Charon Coin Press, Alban Lake Press, and Less Than Three Press. Her LGBT fiction is written under the pen name Edale Lane to differentiate from her more mainstream stories. She has a son, Peter and daughter, Michele who both serve in the US Army, a daughter-in-law, Jessica and grandsons, Mark and Asher. She resides in Utica, MS with her longtime partner, Johanna.
Melodie is also a musician who plays the French horn, composes, and has spent many years as a choral or instrumental director. She aspires to be a successful enough author to quit driving and devote herself to writing fulltime.
Brian W. Taylor is a former soldier turned genre fiction author with a soft spot for the horror genre, black Labs, and soul patches. He grew up in Rochester, New York watching movies like The Evil Dead with his grandmother before Cancer took her, which naturally led him to seek out horror in literature. It was then that he stumbled upon Dean Koontz, and never looked back. While horror is his first love, Sci-Fi/Fantasy is a close second. Authors like Margaret Weis, Tim Lebbon, and Will McIntosh line his shelves. Oh, and never ask him to touch an Ouija board, because he won’t. Ever.
He spent six years in the US Air Force as an aircraft fuel systems specialist. His time in the military hammered home a commitment to excellence as well as instilling a “can do” attitude. Brian still holds on to many of the core values he learned while serving.
When he was younger, Brian believes he saw the ghost of his great-aunt. He found out the next day she had passed the night before. He’s been a believer ever since. In his opinion, horror should be intelligent, play off reader’s fear of the unknown, and also be based around some kind of truth. He tries to bring those same characteristics to his stories and can’t imagine a life without monsters and the people who battle them.
He’s currently hard at work on his next book.

Brian Fatah Steele has been writing various types of dark fiction for over fifteen years, often describing it as “cosmic horror with elements of urban fantasy and sci-fi.” Steele originally went to school for fine arts but finds himself far more fulfilled now by storytelling. His own titles include DIRE BRANCHES (Alien Agenda Publishing), OUR CARRION HEARTS (Bloodshot Books), HUNGRY RAIN (Severed Press), CELESTIAL SEEPAGE (Alien Agenda Publishing), BLEED AWAY THE SKY (Bloodshot Books) and THERE IS DARKNESS IN EVERY ROOM (Sinister Grin Press), along with the self-published YOUR ARMS AROUND ENTROPY, BRUTAL STARLIGHT, FURTHER THAN FATE, and IN BLEED COUNTRY. His work has appeared in such anthologies as 4POCALYPSE, BLOOD TYPE, CTHULHU LIES DREAMING, DEATH’S REALM, THE IDOLATERS OF CTHULHU, and the Bram Stoker Award-nominated DARK VISIONS, VOL.1.
Author D.S. Ullery has been honing his craft since childhood, when he would pen tales of the ghastly and macabre to entertain his family and friends. His enduring love affair with the horror genre began in 1976 at the age of five, when he caught a late night broadcast of the Universal classic Creature from the Black Lagoon on the horror program Creature Feature. Young D.S. was hooked for life.
From 2002-2003, D.S. repeatedly contributed material to the independent horror magazine Hacker's Source, during which time his short story "I Knew the Witch" was published in the magazine.
Following his tenure at Hacker, D.S. worked as a full time writer at The Lake Worth Herald, the community newspaper of his hometown Lake Worth, Florida. After that, the cinema bug bit him and he enrolled in the Palm Beach Film School, completing the program in early 2008 and going on to write, direct, edit and -in two instances- appear in four independent short films, all of which are available for viewing on Youtube and at least one of which is straight supernatural horror.
In May of 2013, after an almost five year absence from writing fiction, D.S. returned to the craft he loves so much.
