This is just not a love story. It's about 2 people who change each other making each of them look outside the box, so to speak. It makes you look at life in a brighter picture. It's not who has a nice house, or what car you drive. It's about how we are made to be. For me, I want to be that better person. I can't wait for you to see what I'm talking about. Jettie has poured her soul into this book. She has created 2 characters, Tristan and Tobias. She dug deep into creating them. She opens your eyes and shows us about friendship and love through these 2 characters. Tristan is a free spirit type of girl; loving and caring. She beautiful inside and out. You feel so many emotions in this character. Tobias is a cocky teenager getting into trouble but having to face the consequences. When these two complete opposites form a friendship, anything is possible.
Honestly, take a chance. Read this book to see what I'm talking about. I really think it will open your mind to possibilities.
Tristan was great. She was spunky and down to earth, but she also had her.. quarks we will call them.
Tobias was a lot harder for me to get a read on. Maybe it was his age (17) or that he is male and I'm not, but I really did enjoy who he became over the course of the book. He was a typical badboy teen that slowly becomes a man.
The characters are fresh and different and unique. I loved what Tristan represented to Tobias and what he represented to her. Yes, in the end this is a love story; but it is also a learning experience of sorts for both main characters and everything has a slow evolve to it.
There were things that didn't jive with me in this book. I loved Tristan, but I couldn't connect with her. It wasn't because she was younger, she was just so different from who I am, that I couldn't imagine my self in her shoes. There were other little things but not being able to connect with the characters was the main one. (Just know that this is me, it won't be for every reader and not to be taken personally)
Overall; the author did an amazing job at giving us a story that would not only make us feel, but leave us with an impact that will stick with us, long after we have read it. I loved seeing something so different then her other books. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Tristan does not believe our country is on a good path. She doesn't like additives in our food or all the government control. She believes that everyone in our entire country are like sheep and are controlled by less than 10 groups. And now it is her job to teach Tobias. Add to that a baby, a murder mystery, some sex and you have a great story. Hope you enjoy their story.

I have read many of Jettie Woodruff's books, and while I enjoy her dark edgy novels.. I really liked this one.Read more
