This is definitely an adult coloring book with pages like, “Of course you can dance – Vodka” or “’I’m not antisocial, I’m pro leave me the [bleep] alone”; however, not all of the pages are sweary; one of my favorite snark from the book is, “Sometimes I question my sanity. Sometimes it replies.”
I love that the pages are just a tad on the edge of politically incorrect and all of them aren’t sweary. The swear words that are in this book do not offend me either; there are some other artists that use such vulgar phrases in their adult sweary coloring books that they aren’t fun to color. I like that the focus of the 37 pages in this book is to bring joy to the colorist. I’m a sassy Ginger and I feel like the sayings on the pages are those that I say on a regular basis, for example, “I am a ray of [bleeping] sunshine” or “I tried to be normal once, worst two minutes of my life.”
I also like that the difficulty of the coloring of the pages varies. There are some that don’t require a lot of attention to detail and others (like the fairy girls) where it will either take me longer to color or I’ll need to find a time where the coloring of the page can be my only focus. The pages themselves are printed on typical Amazon coloring book paper. They are also printed single sided, but you will want to put a piece of paper behind the page you’re coloring to protect the next page from any bleeding of ink, especially when using Chamelion Art Products 22-Pen Deluxe Set Chameleon or Sharpie Electro Pop Permanent Markers, Ultra Fine Point, Assorted Colors, 24 Count. Coloring with colored pencils or gel pens will not bleed through the pages.
In addition to being a fun artist, Sasha is also an amazing human being. The first week’s proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to charity. That’s effing amazing! How many independent artists are giving their proceeds to charity during the week that the book will probably sell its highest volume? (I personally purchased two copies)
As a huge supporter of the independent artists that are sharing their work in the form of coloring books, I’ve found it gives the customer an opportunity to connect directly with artist. Through this connection, I have had the pleasure of being part of Sasha’s Effing Awesome Promo team for the past two books. I am excited to have a physical copy of this book and can’t wait to begin coloring the pages. I think I’m looking forward to “Mostly I just stand around being fantastic” the most!
If you like this book, I also recommend any of Sasha’s other 6 books including her first book,Calm the F*ck Down: An Irreverent Adult Coloring Book.
Sasha included a color test page in the front of the book as well as a link to some free content so look for that in the middle of the book! Get one or get a few to pass around to your friends too and have some kick-arse fun coloring in this newest book from a fun and funny artist.
Great quality, moderate to detailed pictures, lots of animals, designs and flowers to color (my favorite), a bright and cheery cover, followed by coloring pages of funny sayings and fun pictures. I can’t even decide which page to start on first—they all grab my attention and say “color me!”
My favorite sayings are, “I’m a rebel without applause.”, “Mostly I just stand around being fantastic.” “Lighten the **** up” and, “Someone told me I was delusional. I almost fell off my unicorn.”
I would suggest this coloring book again and again!
