Vinyl not great, Rocky Trail by far best track

The vinyl has an outer edge warp which doesn't make for good listening to quieter acoustic music especially at these fluctuating and higher prices. It also has the rainbow appearance of some chemical smears on both sides. Does not clean off.
The music is about a 3.5, the vinyl a 2.5, with Rocky Trail being the hook track that is just stellar. A couple others are decent, the rest somewhat lackluster on first listen.
After listening to all of their older material for the last month, I can say that it is a bit of a disappointment. So not a long time fan but they really do have some great tunes just wish there were more here. If you are a fan, I'd really suggest getting the best digital files or the cd.

Klangtechnisch ist das eine sehr schöne Aufnahme, kristallklar, nicht aufdringlich, weit entfernt von einem Klangbrei perlt sie aus den Lautsprechern. Dafür 5 Sterne.
Warum insgesamt nur 4 Sterne? Weil es ein nettes Album ist, mehr nicht. Weil es schöne Musik im Hintergrund ist. Weil ich das Album ein bisschen langweilig finde. Es reicht meiner Meinung nach nicht an die ersten beiden Alben „Quiet is the new loud“ und „Riot on an empty street“ heran. Schon das dritte Album „Declaration of dependance“ der zwei Norweger fand ich persönlich eine Stufe unter den beiden ersten, und „Peace or Love“ setzt den Trend leider fort. Die Texte finde ich ein bisschen belanglos, es kommt mir ein wenig so vor, als hätten die beiden Herren ein bisschen (schöne) Musik vor sich hingeschrammelt und dann noch schnell ein paar Zeilen dazugescribbelt, und fertig ist der Song. Da ich von den frühen Aufnahmen die mit Leslie Feist ganz besonders mag, zB. „Know How“, hatte ich mich sehr gefreut, hier auch welche zu finden, aber auch die plätschern vor sich hin.
Das alles ist meine persönliche, subjektive und vor allem amateurhafte Meinung. Andere mögen es durch eine andere Brille sehen. Ich werde mir jetzt „Know How“ auf die Terrasse perlen lassen und dahinschmelzen. „Peace or Love“ werde ich mir dennoch öfter anhören, vielleicht finde ich ja noch den Zugang.

Jahre hat man gewartet. 12 an der Zahl. Die Songs wurden zwar einem Live Publikum schon vor Jahren vorgestellt, aber gerade im schwierigen 2021 ist dieses wahrliche Comeback wirklich willkommen. 11 typische KoC Songs, zwei wunderbare mit Leslie Feist erweitern die brillianten Vorgänger um weitere Perlen. Akustischer Indiefolk mit wundervollem Gesang, etwas Violine, etwas Klavier und einmal sogar mit Drums, der am besten mit einem kühlen Getränk am Abend zu genießen ist... Mit den Texten muss ich mich wohl erst beschäftigen...
