All Nelson albums are compared to the classic "AFTER THE RAIN" album. Usually the albums can't hold up to that perfect blend of music, until NOW. The new Nelson album 'PEACE OUT" IS EVEN BETTER THAN AFTER THE RAIN. This New Album still has the Classic Nelson Harmonies but it also Kicks the Music to Another Level. LESS KEYBOARDS AND MORE GUITARS. That is what Peace Out is about. NO FILLER ON THIS CD. 12 SONGS AND 10 ARE ROCKERS AND ONLY 2 BALLADS. The closer on the album is a Beautiful Ballad called "LEAVE A LIGHT ON". It is an Awesome song. If you WANNA ROCK, WOW, YOU CAN ROCK WITH THIS ALBUM... Heaviest tracks are Rock Star, Autograph, I Wanna Stay Home, Back In The Day, Bad For You, and You and Me. For people like me that grew up on the BEST MUSIC IN THE WORLD: EIGHTIES ROCK, the song Back In the Day, will have special meaning for you. It takes you back to when musicians were real, the music was real, and the rock was real. No computer generated music that the band doesn't even have to show up for these days. The lead singer is the only person that goes to the studio on most of todays computer generated music. To break this album down in one sentence: Great Rock Album with super melodies, great guitar and solos, super songwriting, and some of the best production in rock music!!!!! IF YOU LOVE MELODIC HARD ROCK, THIS IS A MUST BUY!!!! This is not pop/rock, it Really Rocks!!!! Thank you for your time and God Bless You!!!!

Classic Nelson album. Nice production. Great harmonies. Excellent musicianship. Well thought out songs. Favorite songs are the first, third, and eleventh tracks: Hello Everybody, Invincible, and Bad for You. If you like the style of previous Nelson albums, with the possible exception of "Because We Can" which has a countryesque feel to it, you will enjoy this album as well. Only song I did not care for at first was the last track, Leave the Light On for Me, as it does not really fit with the rest of the songs but it's growing on me and will likely be a concert favorite.

Nelson – Peace Out
Written by The Rock Man

What’s in a name? For some music journalists it is everything. For example, the music press would look upon names like U2 or Coldplay with enormous credibility and respect. More often than not, they are praised for their work like it is the greatest thing since the invention of the guitar; a true triumph of humanity. The flipside of this are those whose work may be just as valid or inspiring, but is met with instant distain all because of the name on the album cover. This is a situation that has long rubbed me the wrong way and I have never understood why if good music is good music, why do we then have to discredit it because of the name on the label?

Case in point, Nelson. Since their 1990 debut album After The Rain, the band, led by Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, have sold 6.5 million albums worldwide, had five Top 40 hit singles, four Top 10 hit singles and one Number 1 hit single on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, and yet are brushed aside and overlooked for the value of their work. And still, I bet my bottom dollar, that if the same music had a Coldplay label attached to it the music world would view it as genius. But maybe the band’s new studio album Peace Out will change a few minds.

Peace Out is the band’s 10th studio outing, which may come as a surprise to some, considering they are mostly known for their hit single (Can’t Live Without Your) Love And Affection and are seen by some as a one hit wonder. Lyrically, for Nelson, the victories, trials and tribulations of love and relationships tend to dominate the song writing process on their records. And on Peace Out this trend continues for the most part, however on occasions they do stray from this format.

Great album. Great production. Nelson with their classic sound, with a touch of modern flair and style. Maybe two or three fillers, but that leaves nine or ten great songs. I hate to call them fillers, as the artists wrote the songs with purpose, you know what I mean.

A great album to play this summer with the windows down!!

Nelson: Gunnar and Matthew Nelson, the twin sons of Ricky Nelson really blew me away with this album! This is a brilliantly written and completely rockin' album. I have enjoyed everything that Nelson has done but this album: PEACE OUT is the best they've ever put out! This is one of the best rock albums to be released in a long time! There's not a bad song on the album! Nelson hooks you from the very first opening Beatlesque vocal of the uptempo and upbeat rocker "Hello Everybody." But Nelson then sweeps you into "Back In The Day" a completely hot rocking jam that reminds one of a cross between Boston and Aerosmith reminiscing of the rocking days of the past. The lyrics of each song are not only fun but infectious...you find yourself singing along without even thinking about it! Keeping the pace jumping and jamming, Nelson sweeps you into #3 "Invincible" which again sounds as if they borrowed a page from Boston but with a harder edge and a character of it's own with flavors of Aerosmith, R.E.O. Speedwagon, and such the like (but don't hold me to any comparisons because their whole sound, full of guitars, lots of melodic lead licks, tons of vocal harmonies, bass licks and solid drums which is just NELSON!!!!)! The recording, production and mastering are excellent (of course what else would expect from Frontiers Records?)! I'm listening to it as I type (third time through in one sitting and it just keeps getting better)! You just gotta get this amazing, fun, rocking, great sounding album!!! It is the best they have ever recorded to date and that's a feat since much of their earlier works are great as well! I could go on and on about each song but you owe it to yourself to listen to this brilliantly written album!
