Having served on the Board of our local Crisis Pregnancy Board and doing a fair amount of volunteering at the Center I wish I had had Ms Taylor's book to place in the hands of those Mom's considering the placement of their baby for adoption. It would have brought much peace to the process. A perfect chronicle of the adoption process.

I enjoyed reading Kristin's story of finding God's peace in what He had in store for their lives. We all have our ideas what we want, expect and determined to have......but only God will give us peace if we accept what His will is for our lives. His plans are higher than ours as Kristin so artistically wrote about.
Wonderful book!

This is a perfect love story. Not a fictional love story fabricated in the mind of an author, but a love story fashioned in the hands of THE Author, and retold so beautifully by the one who lived it. Kristin Hill Taylor pours her heart out into the pages of Peace in the Process: How Adoption Built My Faith & My Family, and I am blessed to have read it. It's a story of faith in the wilderness, of a heavenly Father who knew the desires of His childrens' hearts, and of believing something that couldn't yet be seen. I loved the details of how God planned the Taylor family, the birth stories of Greg and Kristin's two children, Ben and Cate, and how their faith throughout this love story changed them and brought them so much closer to Christ. God used Kristin's words to speak to my heart as a mother who fears failure and needs to remember where my strength comes from: "Plenty of days I still feel ill-equipped to be a mom, but that drives me to the Maker." As a parent who isn't always sure of the right answer and needs a road map: "The Bible is the only steadfast manual to parenting - or anything else we're called to in this life." And as God's daughter who always wants to know the ending of the story before He has shown it to me: "Even when we don't say the right words, God knows. In his timing, we see a glimpse of his masterpiece." I could read this book fifty-three times and I know God would show me something new each time. Something powerful, something true, and something beautiful. So whether you're a parent or without little ones, married or single, a child of God or a person simply searching for a love story that's real, you should give pause and read this one. It will change you.

Peace in the Process: How Adoption Built My Family & Faith

Circles of Faith Regular Contributor Kristin Hill Taylor’s book, Peace in the Process: How Adoption Built My Family & Faith, gives an inside, up close, and very personal view of her life journey through her adoption process and the many God lessons she learned along the way.

Each chapter launches with a powerful scripture, which Kristin fleshes out through her story and the story of her growing family. Her tale unfolds in a refreshingly honest account of her very relatable struggles as she attempts to control life, deal with disappointments, and the conflict of loving our kids fully, while being exhausted and worn out in the process. Through her journey Kristin discovers a very real God who loves us completely, knows our sorrows and our joys, cares about the details of our lives, and “gives sorrow for joy.”

Kristin’s telling of divine orchestration of the events that led to adopting her children cannot be written off as coincidence, Through Peace in the Process, we witness how God provides in sometimes truly miraculous ways that point straight to Him and His great love for us. This very real and candid account includes recollections from the two birth mothers who gave Kristin and Greg their two children; the two children who were the answers to their prayers.

Peace in the Process is transparent and inspiring. A story of finding peace in the process of letting go, which opened Kristin’s eyes to new options and ultimately, the children she and her husband were meant to love and raise. As we join Kristin on her journey, we too are reminded that God truly knows what’s best, His timing is perfect, and if we allow it, His peace will overcome the desire to control our circumstances.

This book was an amazing read! I felt like God was speaking directly to me through the author. My husband and I also struggled with starting our family so I could relate to some of her heartache. However, this book reminded me that it is not "our" plan and it doesn't happen in "our" timing. My husband has a chronic illness and I have learned to put my trust in God and turn my struggles and worries over to Him. Patience in His timing is not easy, it can be very difficult. I would recommend this book to anyone who is having difficulty understanding God's plan for their life, whether it is infertility and adoption or illness of a loved one, this book will help you find "peace in the process."

Do you wonder about God’s timing in your life? Do you wonder about his presence and his guidance, especially when life is difficult and things aren’t going like you planned? Kristin Taylor’s book, Peace in the Process: How Adoption Built My Faith & My Family, offers hope and encouragement for anyone looking for God’s whispers when life is hard.

Kristin is beautifully vulnerable in sharing her story of infertility—her years of waiting on God—and her story of adoption, the gift of God bringing to their family their daughter and their son.

Peace in the Process was a book I couldn’t put down. I loved Kristin’s wisdom—how each chapter is framed with Biblical scripture—and her candid story-telling in which she shares the challenges that come with parenting, all the while grateful for her precious adopted daughter and son.

Don’t miss this opportunity to read a story of love and perseverance, joy and faith. Peace in the Process is a book anyone—infertility struggles or not—needs to read.
