Customer NOTE: This item, as pictured in Amazon description PEARCE GRIP EXT FOR XDS, is WRONG! Due to this misinformation, this item was purchased directly from the manufacturer. Please see additional photos for accurate pictures!

The Pearce Grip Extension for the Springfield Amory 45 Caliper XDs 5-round magazine is an excellent enhancement. I was able to put this extension on within sixty seconds after receiving the item from the manufacturer. It does not impair this pistol's superb concealability factor.

NOTE: This is a simple grip extension for the pinky finger - It is NOT a magazine extension. There are seven round magazines for the XDs manufactured by Springfield Armory - But I do not recommend conceal carry using the seven round mag. If carrying concealed, it is best to have the seven round mag as a backup (see pictures).

Addendum NOTES:
16 June 2013 - Amazon corrected product picture to match the Pearce uploaded customer image.

26 July 2013 - Amazon removed customer photos of actual product and reverted to original pre-16 June incorrect product picture. Visit "pearcegrip" DOT com, under "Products", "Springfield Armory", "PG-XDS" for an accurate product depiction.

I purchased this item for my M&P Shield .40 and it has really enhanced the my ability to manage the recoil, stabilize and added support the gun. Adding the magazine extension to 7 round magazine was a great asset to firing the gun with giving my pinky a place to rest. I plan to use the shield as my off duty carry and the extension does not interfere with concealment at all.

I bought the ruger lcp awhile back and I love the gun, the only problem was it is so small I couldn't get a good grip on it, I bought it to conceal so I needed to figure out something to do. So I got on amazon and came across this product and its like holding a new gun. Before I could only get my middle finger on the grip(this is while having the ruger extension on) and now I can get both ring and middle finger, and the grip,"at least on my hand" stops just after my ring finger so my pinky rests snug underneath, It makes it feel like the grip was customized for my hand. So for people with larger hands I highly recommend this product. Also it extended it enough for my wife with smaller hands to get her whole hand on there, so she likes it also, gives her a lot more control. Great Product, and its a two pack.

These things are Amazing!!! The 7 round mag is way to hard to grip with your pinky not getting a hold of anything ... And I do not like the long extended mag 8 rounders either (harder to conceal) ... so I bought and extra 7 round mag and two of these and they work PERFECT!!! They make my grip now much more positive and barely add any extension on the grip to make it print more when concealing. I also bought the talon grips as well and they sell a Pearce mag extension grip part as well for these. (PICTURE ATTACHED). I am very pleased with these and will recommend them to everyone I know who has a Shield or any other smaller grip pistol that can use these Pearce mag extensions.

Grip extension fits perfectly for both the 7 and 8 round mags for both .40 and 9mm. Easily installed in seconds. Handgrip ideal and improved over standard. The grip with the 8 round mag really extends out quite nicely without a great deal of imprint.

Highly Recommended.

I installed this on my Springfield XD40 Subcompact. Anyone who has ever shot this gun with the 9 round mag knows that there is a definite snappy muzzle flip, which is to be expected with most small handguns of this caliber. It is not as much of an issue with the extended 12 rd mag.

This Pearce extension makes the gun more controllable with the smaller mag, while still maintaining good concealability. Installation is a snap and can literally be done in under 30 seconds. All I used was a small flat screwdriver on my multitool to press in the button on the bottom of the mag. The original plate slides off and the new one slides on in its place. Just make sure to keep your thumb over the hole so that the mag spring doesn't shoot out.

After installing these on the 7 you won't like the feel of the 8rd magazine. I bought one for each of my additional magazines. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I carry an XDS 45 and elected not to use the extended 7 round magazine for concealed carry. Like many others, I found the movement of the grip extension on the extended magazine to be a possible issue if it was a requirement when reloading the firearm in a hurry/under duress. As part of your training doctrine, you should stick to the exact fit/loadout when you're both familiarizing yourself with the firearm and practicing. This grip allows the user to have an extra point of contact for their pinky finger while keeping the backstrap stock. The extended magazine adds overall length and changes the palm feel significantly on both sides. Given the price of ammunition, it is more cost effective to train and carry with exactly the same setup.

I find the 5 round capacity magazine to be very functional but was having issues maintaining comfortable groupings at 25+ yards. Granted, this is also a testament to the ability of the shooter and the ammunition, but the additional control and comfort from these grips has improved my follow-up shots and groups overall. For less than $10, it's a very cost-effective solution for larger-handed individuals like myself who like the comfort of a smaller frame carry system without a full-sized grip. I will be buying more for the rest of my backup magazines.

Highly Recommended!
