I bought this even though I thought the price was more than I wanted to spend on a simple cap. I needed something that would fit under my bike helmet and cover my ears in cold weather since I usually get earaches/headaches when I ride below 45 degrees.

I was very pleased with the performance. It was windproof enough to keep my ears protected, thin enough to fit comfortably under my helmet and breathable enough to not let my head sweat. The only downside is that it is not very stylish-but I didn't buy it with that in mind so I'm perfectly happy.

30% of warmth is lost through the head and this skull cap is excellent for keeping in the warmth. Nice tight fit over the ears and a lightweight material that fits perfectly under the helmet.

Have tested this out in temps to around 45F and it is a life saver. This skull cap has made all the difference when cycling in cool weather. You can be in teeth chattering cold at the start of the ride and once you get going this thing really helps trap the heat and keep your comfy and warm.

Pearl iZumi makes top drawer stuff and this is another great product from them.

This is an ok under helmet warmth solution so long as you are not going anywhere too cold (it is too thin, and despite claims to the contrary, not truly windproof) and so long as you don't have a head much bigger than 7 1/2. Mine is 7 3/4 and it is small. The result is a tight fit and no ear coverage to speak of. I am hoping that over time, with enough tugging, I can get it to stretch.

I got this and quickly realized that it was not really big enough. My earlobes hang out. Also, it muffles your hearing (which I suppose is normal with windblocking material). I prefer to wear wool or windbloc fleece.

Bought this for cold weather cycling. Went on 2 rides at @34 degrees. My head stayed warmest of all the regions of my body. I did put a Halo head/sweat band with ear covers over the top just in case, because it felt like the built in ear covers were too small and would ride up during cycling prior to first use. I have not tried it without the Halo band yet because the warmth is perfect.

Pros - **Kept my head warm at 34 degrees at up to 20mph, fits under helmet.

Cons - ear flaps feel too small before first use, not stylish.

I would buy this again/recommend to a friend.

The hat is super thin, comfortable, and stretchy but somehow it keeps me insanely warm! It must be made out of some magic material! On me, it covers most of my ears. Oh, it also has a ponytail hole in the back, that was a little surprise for me.

yeah, this is a nice cap, fits well under a helmet and keeps in the warm while wicking the sweat away (warm ears for the win).. my wife started using it for running (pulls her hair through the slit in the back) and now won't give it back....

The cap, like everything else bicycle, is sized for average people. I'm not a giant, 6'2", medium build, and I find the cap more a beanie than a cap. When I put it on and pull it down over my ears, it immediately begins crawling up on my head. Larger than average (even slightly larger) people will likely find the cap too small if they are looking for ear warmth.

The Pearl Izumi Transfer Balaclava works better for me. Fits ok.
