About the Author
Lisa Burkhardt Worley's father, a prominent doctor, died two months before she was born, so she grew up fatherless with a mentally ill mother who never recovered from her father's death. Through trial and error, Lisa learned about life the hard way until she was introduced to her "father in heaven" by a friend in high school. Lisa went on to have a successful 19-year sportscasting career at both the national and local level but after a devastating job loss, she rededicated her life to Christ and devoted her career to the Lord. God gave her another six years in television both at ESPN and at the local level again, but in 1999, God called Lisa out of television into a "day" job so she could participate more actively in ministry. In 2002, the Lord made a call on Lisa's life to attend seminary. She graduated with a Master's of Theological Studies Degree from Perkins School of Theology in 2008 and has been active in full-time ministry since her graduation. Lisa often says God transformed her from the Sportscaster who does ministry to the minister who used to be a sportscaster! Lisa Mick has loved Jesus since she was six years old but during her adolescent years she made many wrong decisions and says life revolved around her. Missing the guidance of her earthly father, Lisa wandered away from the Lord and the truth she knew. However, accepting Jesus' grace and mercy years later, Lisa's life made a dramatic turn. Through studying the Bible, God's word penetrated her mind, body and soul. She found joy in the Lord and in serving Him! Lisa is a daughter of the King and loves to shine her light for Him. Catherine Weiskopf worried herself sick for most of her life. She struggled with depression and anxiety and at one point realized she was bowing down to the idol of anxiety. "All my decisions were made based on how anxious it would make me feel," she said "I wouldn't fly because flying made me panic." Slowly but surely, God's still, quiet voice directed Catherine to replace her anxiety with His Peace and her worry with His love.
