I'm amazed by how much I love this thing. I've been looking for a smart watch/fitness tracker I liked for more than a year. I've owned the Moto 360, Fitbit Charge HR, Fitbit Blaze, Jawbone UP3, and Xiaomi HR. None of them hold a candle to this thing.

1. The screen. Omg. I was disappointed at first by two things: it has no color, and it's not touch. Guess what? I was wrong! Those things are AWESOME. It's crystal clear, the lack of color looks super classy and eye-catching, and no touch screen means navigation is super simple and accurate. I hated the Moto 360's touch screen, you'd touch three things you didn't mean to before you got the right thing. And the Blaze's was super laggy and everything was tackily oversized so you could click it easier. But I didn't realize before now... A touchscreen is completely unnecessary! I think I just wanted it for the 'cool' factor, or maybe it's just been programmed in me that touch screen=more advanced=better. But the navigation on this thing is so simple and easy and accurate. I absolutely love it. It even lets you program quick buttons, so holding down each of the four buttons for a second will automatically load whichever app you choose. And the four buttons is a million times better than the standard one or two that's on most fitness trackers.

2. It's so fast!! I've never had such a fast gadget. It's faster than my Galaxy S6. It loads everything SO quickly it still trips me out. No glitches (so far), no freezes or anything. And the speech-to-text feature is faster than the Google app on my phone. I don't know how, but it's movie-quality fast and has yet to get a word wrong.

3. The HR monitor is as accurate as I can find. As good as if not better than the Charge HR. Which, PS, makes the smart alarm work PERFECTLY. And- how cool is this- it takes just seconds to set a smart alarm from the watch itself. Just menu>alarms>smart alarm or >basic alarm. (If you don't know what a smart alarm is, it uses your HR and accelerometer info to decipher when you're in the best part of your sleep cycle to wake you up. You set the latest time the alarm should go off, and give it a window of time that it could go off. During that window, it'll wait until you're in the lightest part of your cycle to wake you up, since waking up out of deeper sleep makes you groggier. This thing wakes me up feeling nice and refreshed, which never happens [never used to happen, anyway!] Both the basic and smart alarms are vibrate only, and you can set different vibration patterns/intensities.)

4. The app is pretty cool. It's easy to navigate, appealing, and has everything on it that I'd want. Your sleep, heart rate and workouts are right there with no digging, and they're easy to understand/navigate through. Out of all the apps I've used (for fitness trackers), I'd say it's a smidge better than the Fitbit app. That one always sucked at connecting and updating (it would take hours to upload info from the tracker to the app and then onto Fitbit.com or whatever, which wasn't optional and would take way too long). This one has no connection problems, updates within minutes and has yet to glitch out on me or be buggy.

5. Even though they have a LOT of user-made apps that do just about whatever you want, the default Pebble itself is super useful and programmed very well. And it's super cute. Right out of the box it was programmed to know my calendar and warn me of appointments and such, could control the music I was playing on my phone (Spotify), and the weather was one click away. And the animations are all so smooth and just plain nice looking.

6. I've heard a lot of complaints about watch faces. How many do you need? There are THOUSANDS. There are even lots of ways for you to make your own. I've had mine less than a week and I already have nine favorites that I've been toggling between because I can't pick a favorite. And I'm very picky, so if I had to guess I'd say you can find at least a handful you like.

7. It's so sleek! And gorgeous! And comfortable! The band is that strange silky silicon that you just want to keep touching. It's waterproof and the battery lasts up to a week. It's simple but eye-catching. I can find no faults with this awesome little watch. I'm so happy with this thing. I don't care at all that Pebble was sold and will no longer support it. Who cares? How often have you had to contact a manufacturer about your watch? These things are ephemeral anyway, and if you're really that afraid of losing your $100 smart watch in a year or two due to some kind of failure then you probably shouldn't be in the market for a smart watch.

I will 100% stand by and recommend the Pebble 2. No more smart watch searches for me! Woohoo!!!

This review will be based on how the device performs, compared against the reasons why I bought it.

Recently the watch band on a digital watch I had, snapped. I looked into purchasing a new watch, rather then getting a new band. I thought hey why not get a smart watch? This following, is what I was looking for in a device:

- affordable, less than $200
-tells the time
-text message readout, and the ability to reply to them.
- heart rate function

A coworker had a chinese knock off, of the samsung variety and liked it. He bought it for 3 dollars on wish. I decided not to go that route, to avoid the possibility of lead poisoning and crap device. There are a lot of android, and apple watch knock offs out there that may have fit the bill, but I could not justify paying $50 and taking that gamble on an unrefined product. I also considered the fit bit blaze, but it cost $250 and you cannot respond to texts. Another coworker had a few watches, pebble time, apple watch and another one which I cant remember the brand. He said he liked the pebble time the most, so I figured I research the device.
The device features included the ones I wanted. For a moment, I considered waiting for the release of pebble time 2, because of its color display. I decided I was venturing too far off, on what I needed out of the device so settled with the pebble 2.

The following is what I found, based on 1.5 weeks worth of use:

Pros:
-The band material is flexible, a soft silicone like material.
-buttons respond nicely, btw the device does not have a touch screen.
-text messaging software responds well. Texts can be read, and responded to by voice. The software sometimes does not pick up words correctly, but that is based upon how much noise is in the area, and if the words you use are real. There are options for canned messages, and emojis. As an alternative to the vanilla software, you can download user made pebble software through the pebble app.
-battery life is good. I charged the watch after 5 days, at 20%. It probably would have lasted longer, if I hadnt been testing out the watch's functions and apps.

Opinion on the HR function:

I really need to test this function against the polar loop device that I own. I have the polar loop, along with then blue tooth heart rate strap. This device has proven to me, to be accurate. At high peaks of strenuous exercise, I've seen the pebble 2 jump to what I would say accurate readouts. On HR's after completing a working set, for example after doing bicep curls, my HR should have atleast been between 70-90. The read out would remain in the 50's, after a set. I think results vary, based upon wrist placement, I don't believe it is the devices issue. Their are
instructions on pebble's website, on how to get the best results. I know the chest strap, and pebble's technology are different, but the pebble should fair within a margin of error.

**********Notes on delivery service*************
Be wary of the company lasership. I selected free 1 day shipping, I am not sure if this is an option only to prime members. Lasership tracking through amazon stated my item was out for delivery at 7pm, and delivered by 8pm. I checked with my neighbors, and no one had my item. I've noticed through a google search, that people will having the same issues. In the future, I will be selecting 2 day prime shipping. I have the Ring doorbell device, with the motion sensors setting on. There was no delivery service, in proximity of my house. Luckily amazon's customer service resolved my issue, and sent out a replacement. I received the product within prime delivery time. The funny part about my experience with amazon customer service, is that even after voicing my opinion about lasership, they still sent my item with... lasership! Good thing I have a good sense of humor, and work in customer service myself, as I understand these mistakes happen.

Conclusion:

I am happy with my purchase, the devices functions in the way that I expected it to do. For a price point of $130, I believe the device was well worth it. If I want to get the HR function to work properly, some extra time will be needed to adjust the device. I recommend that you purchase this device, if you are looking for the same functionality that I was. If you don't care for the HR function, there is also the Pebble 2 SE which skips out on the HR and cost $99. Additional features that I liked, are sleep monitoring. Messages are displayed telling you, how much sleep you had, and how much more sleep you had, compared to previous days. Vibrating alarm feature, can be useful when you do not want to wake up your spouse. There are quite a few pebble applications that are useful, and I am looking forward to more user created content.

Thanks for reading my review!

Sigh... so much for Pebble. I have a habit of loving products no one else does.

I tried a fancy touch-screen droid watch last year. The problem with the touch screen is that YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT IT AND TOUCH IT TO GET ANYTHING DONE. This is a problem in the winter, when your watch is on your wrist under 2 shirts and a coat.

A well-designed four-button plain interface like the Pebble? I can find and operate that without even LOOKING at the screen, much less touching it. Control my music, reply to texts, pick up the phone if my earphones are in... just reach for my wrist and push the button I know is the right one.

Oh well. Maybe Fitbit will do something right for a change and keep the line going.

I bought a Pebble (original) a few weeks ago and decided to upgrade when I saw this on sale for $69 through amazon warehouse deals. I loved the original so I knew I would love this and so far I must say I am happy with the upgrade. I started using the pebble after they were bought out and everything seems to still work great... I hope it stays that way because this thing is so cool. I love all the watch faces, especially the Pokémon one Nick from Trainer tips uses. I also really like the way it handles notifications.

Things I like most:
Notifications- (responding with voice to texts is a nice new feature from the Pebble classic.)
Music controls- (nice when skateboarding)
Calendar integrated without me having to do anything.
Activity track with pebbles own system-( misfit on the original did not sync well with my phone.)

I am glad I tried out the original Pebble to make sure I would like the smart watch concept and for $25 why not. I feel like this was a worthy upgrade with the new features and slimmer design.

I am using this with a Android phone Samsung galaxy s 7 (if that helps anyone make a decision).

My only current negative for the product is even though I bought it used but in "like new" condition the band was quite dirty when it arrived. The watch was in good shape however and the bands washed in the sink and look fine now.

I waited a very very long time before purchasing a smart watch. I was waiting for the Pebble 2 to arrive, but was very disappointed when I heard that Pebble was going under. I WAS going to spend the retail $$ originally, but decided against it when I learned of Pebble folding. But then I saw a VERY VERY good deal online and for $80 I figured I couldn't go wrong. Well the problem is that I am totally in love with this watch! And then I became terrified that my watch would die and I would not be able to replace it. So I decided to watch for a good sale and bingo. Amazon had it for $5 less than the first one I bought. I now have my "backup" stored away in a safe place until I need it. (PS I did pull it out and update the firmware when the "last" update of the firmware came out the other day)... then back into the safe :)

Perfect watch. I was wondering between Apple Watch and Pebble. I treid Apple watch for three days but gave it back after two days of use because of following reasons:
- Uncomfortable in continuous use of 24x7 because of its bulky shape and heavy weight.
- Battery need to be charged at least once a day or even twice a day
- Screen reflects in direct sunligh thats make it difficult to read messages or even see the time

Then finally I decided for pebble. I don't regret my decessions for the following reasons:
- Compact form and shape compared to any smart watch currently in the market. Very confortable to use it as a 24/7 health tracking device. Even while sleeping dont give a feeling of something wearing on the hands.
- Superb battery life. 3 days with the watch face that I am using. But for most of you it will give upto 7 days of battery life. I am using the face watchthat is displaying each and every minute details i.e. time, date, day, weather, sunset/rise time, Heartbeat, Steps, Distance covered. And all these informations are updated on the screen on a regular basis sucking some of the battery still giving me upto 3 days of battery life.
- decent HR readings
- always on screen.
- No reflection even in direct sunlight.

Had the device for 4 days now and I have only had to charge it once. I am very busy so I receive notifications on it at least 4 an hour. Keeps heart rate and steps fairly accurately. I have left it on while in the shower and in the pool and so far so good. I'm very happy. Also, as of 4/7/17 the last update on the watch should cause all functions to take place in the locally installed application so there are no worries about losing functionality with the fitbit transition. My fiancée has a Gear 2 and he paid nearly $100 more without the ability to see heart rate, step tracking and the battery only last 2 days haha!

I have waited a while before submitting my review since i wanted to give a fair and hands on of the pebble 2. Yes as many other reviews have spoken that fitbit has bought out pebble and surely its because they wanted to lessen one competitor in their market and as can be seen for good reason. Pebble is overall simple design and concept however this is not a loss in any way in regards to its capabilities. I presently have mine synced to HTC 10 and our son who we bought a pebble 2 for as well uses the galaxy S6 and neither has demonstrated any lack in notofications or display. The vibrate feature of alert works seemlessly, as does the mic voice to text response and the battery life has ranged a consistant 5 to almost 7 days of battery life depending amount of use. As well the sleep and heart rate sensors are on point with readings for my use of a sleep apnea machine and reading at last rheumatologist appt. I still use older technology that not longer has capability of updating and i have found that as long you have the app and all features are working than you will not have a problem with continued use throghout the years the only long term mindful thought is that later down the life the battery wont hold the same amount of lifespan charge since the more charge cycles occur the less battery life you will end of having. In the photo i added for size comparisson against my DM09 from evershop which is a excellent clone verison of the apple watch has only few minor added features yet should not detor from your decession of getting the pebble 2 while supplies last for you would not be desappointed as long as you can look past the lack of color and talking on a phone using the watch you will be satisfied with purchasing pebble 2!

I love this product, can't believe Apple didn't produce something similar.

The screen/time is always on for me, love the notifications and love the fitness features. I bought it for the fitness features.

The ONE thing I wish it had was GPS. That would make this thing incredible. I get about 4-5 days of battery life in use.

Two thumbs up! Tim Cook, learn a lesson from the little guy.
