Dr. Hanson courageously offers a perspective for incorporating the spiritual dimension with the psychological study of the human condition. Through her own childhood editorial observation of her soul's conscious movement from a three dimensional world to a limitless experience of lightness and faith during a drowning, questions about non-ordinary experiences have driven her to a special kind of research. She links this foundational experience to the consequent strategy she developed to listen deeply, to trust her sensate experience of both fear as a motivator for change and trust that she is not alone in her despair or navigation of the unknowns. This led her to a lifelong study of synchronicity and an understanding of how the soul guides and supports what we seek, and an understanding of how much more we are and can be. Her book Life Path Flow is timely and offers a scholarly understanding of who we are, as well as a personal path to utilizing this understanding for greater mastery of creating one's life purpose.

Having read an earlier "Pebbles in the Pond," I was delighted to see that wave five was available and ready to be inspired again by diverse and personal transformational stories. Indeed I was inspired and found myself appreciating the diversity of styles, approaches and even underlying beliefs from each author. Transformation is a key component of each story and I so appreciate that we are all on a similar path and both our Oneness and Uniqueness shine through. Daily life struggles are transformed to every day spirituality as these stories are told even when it means facing hard times and stepping out on a new and unfamiliar path. I was especially inspired by "The Time is Now: Are you Ready?" by Lilia Shoshanna Rae and could feel her courage as she described her five year old self stepping out in courage on a stage and how she used that memory as a catalyst for her own transformation decades later as she transformed fear and re-awakened courage. Transformation is so often about living our Truth even it means moving past what others say and think as we walk our path on purpose, as described by Linda Roebuck in Encountering the Mystery - another inspirational story of stepping into the power and love that we are. Every story in this book had a nugget of inspiration and wisdom for me as a reader on my own transformational journey.

This book was a joy to read. To hear in their own words how the various authors overcame adversity and moved on to lead rich fulfilling lives was uplifting. Much of it was timely... in particular, Veronica Lynch as she recounted the journey of loss of loved ones and immigration and how she found the courage to live. I would recommend this book to everyone: particularly those who are still struggling in life to find themselves and their voice.

It's a refreshing change of pace to pick up this book and see that it includes "real people with real stories".

Part of being a human being is to pass your life's lessons on from person to person...and from generation to generation.

This books is full of stories of people who encountered major life challenges, learned from those challenges, and ultimately transformed into a better person because of their journey.

We all need to be reminded of why we're here...and this book is a great start. ;-)

Keri Smith's contribution to the powerful body of transforming chapters in Pebbles lays bare the issue of authenticity. I have been struck for years with the notion that we interact with others through impostor selves. We are all the victims of identity theft.

So I was really moved to see how Keri has laid bare her soul to bring the issue of authenticity - especially in leadership roles - to our attention.

Opening the wound is not sufficient. Identifying solutions that promote healing is also important. Keri's 5-step process that she uses to manage the masking and de-masking games that we play is practical and to the point.

Interestingly, although they appear in reverse order, Keri's piece dovetails neatly with Blount's contribution. His recognition that I am God's Masterpiece could be the antidote to concerns about being my Authentic Self. His 7 spiritual yearnings provide the guide rails for being ME and being comfortable with it.

Those pieces alone are worth getting a copy of Pebbles Wave Five.

I read half of the 20 chapters which included those of James, Lovink, Hanson, Lynch, Corso, Smith, Soler, Isaac, Bradford and Rosas. For those with an interest in self-improvement, the inner self, and the metaphysical "Pebbles" offers a variety of perspectives and approaches framed by a some interesting, and a few very compelling. personal stories. Those read were, for the most part, well written and constructed with the chapters by Michael James, Veronica Lynch and Pedro Soler standing out. Of particular note is the chapter by Hanson. Her understated, borderline elegant, and open style brought her compelling story to life with an accessible vulnerability seldom experienced in such prose. I look forward to reading the rest of the chapters as well as a selection of the forthcoming publications.
