Here are some ways to identify genuine Stop: Individual pairs of genuine Pedag Stop come in a zip lock bag with barcode, Pedag International Logo, picture of Stop in the heel of a shoe (see package picture among in product images). On the back there is a product description in 6 languages including English and Made in Germany. Genuine Stop is light gray suede with a visible nap. The padding is gently curved and raised to pad your heel.
The counterfeit products have been packed in a clear, generic polybags. The leather is off-white or gray in color. Sometimes the leather has visible pores which indicate it is pigskin and has no visible nap. However, as mentioned above, the leather can look like pedag’s but the width and shape of the heel grips are wrong and the padding is too flat to be effective.Read more ›
Second, they are made of leather with a slightly pebbly texture. I wondered if their texture would create snags on my stockings at the heel but they haven't and i think the texture actually creates a better "hold" on the heel. They are perhaps not quite as thick in dimension as some others (particularly compared to gel types) but I need to prevent slippage, not fill a large gap in an attempt to make too-large shoes fit. The fact they stay stuck in my shoes and create a good grip make these the best choice in my book. A+++
One warning - the adhesive on these is strong. If you need to remove these don't take off all the backing. I usually expose just about an inch in the center and that keeps these on most shoes.
They are comfortable, easy to install, and the boning in the middle does help the heel "hold on". Do not get those dr. scholls heel liners. They don't work like these do.
It says to use a shoe horn on the packaging. I don't have one. I just use my fingers to pull the back of my shoe while I load my foot in so I'm not rubbing the liner off.
I highly recommend this product in conjunction with these heel straps (for those that need extra help)

Very sticky and stay put once they're stuck on -- but these don't have much depth and won't fix your problem when your shoe is a half size or size too big. Read morePublished 5 days ago by Recent college grad
